Im sick of walking over a BR and with a different scope but is the same Req level and I cannot pick up the ammo, the only difference in most of the guns is the fact that their are attachments on the gun…which doesnt change the ammunition. So the weapons shouldnt be left dry only because you killed someone or a teammate died and you are low on ammo. Just to get out gunned because you have no spare clips. When ammo is laying all around you, I can understand this being for power weapons but loadout weapons should not be affected by this.
I agree on this, though in most cases I just swap weapons, depending on it’s current ammo.
You can just walk over to a req system and get ammo for loadout weapons. Sure it may be inconvenient but if its basically the same weapon just pick it up.
It literally makes no sense.

its a “different” gun. Its the same reason why you can hold two battle rifles with different scopes/attachments.

It fires the exact same ammo.
Never found myself in the middle of a fight and without ammo.
REQ stations work fine.

A Req Station isnt in the middle of the battlefield unless your playing Warzone Assault

The game doesnt read it that way. Its kinda like comparing the brute plasma rifle to the standard. regardless of the difference in speed, the game reads both as different guns despite identical model with minor alterations.

So your telling me that I can walk of a normal battlerifle and a battlerifle with a bayonet on it…and I cant get ammo for both guns? and the only difference is the blade on the gun…please explain your logic.
It could also be intentional, like if you walk over a better version. If you could take its ammo it would disappear before you could even grab it if it was low enough

They can easily fix this. They have chosen not to tho. Just like how we have scripting all they have to do is script it as BR A and BR B with two different scopes/attachments but both require the same ammo. Its an online only game, which they could have been fixed in development or in the past month’s updates…so explain the problem?

then they could just leave an empty version of the weapon on the ground to pick up just remove the mags from the current equipped weapon and load it into the one you found on the ground, problem solved just set it on a fixed disappearing timer.

the bayonet and the standard br in the example differ in the fact that their stats are different. the bayonet model has a long reach and does more damage for melee. It doesnt matter if they fire the same “bullets” because techincally they arent even firing bullets, the game uses hit scan so whatever you fire already hit, how much damage and what effects are predetermined by what weapon fired. Like the BR with kinetic rounds does more damage to vehicles and has has better knock-back
You’re basically using two different weapons with identical skins with or without accesories attached (which are more or less aesthetics added to visualize the difference in the coding between the two weapons)

Bayonet model only has increased melee lunge and can one hit…thats the only difference compared to the standard br.
As the the kinectic rounds, is an attachment on the br itself, which still functions like a br. The game can be hit scan but all the br’s except Halo 2’s br does the same damage to spartan’s besides kinectic. That said they all have the same damage model, just different scopes and attachments. Not ammo. Still holding 108 rounds and still holding 36 bullets. which like I said can be scripted.
I have found myself without my ammo but very rarely and most times I do not die from it.
I agree that loadout weapons should share ammo because everyone uses different variants so you never pick up ammo on the ground.

Just go to a req station. Stop being babies.

The game can be easily made to read it that way. They all fire the exact same projectile so tweaking a few parameters or logic variables would allow for the ammo to work on multiple variants.
