Fix the resigning in this game

No one should lose 60% because they decided to resign. Resigning isn’t a bad thing. When the game is over you should resign, that’s the respectful thing to do. Not make your opponent have to run around the map destroying units/bases. I know I should just delete my bases, but sometimes I forget.

On another note: Allow players to see the stats after the game when they resign as well.

I agree. They could just let you just destroy your bases instead of quitting but as far as I know they don’t give you experience if you destroy your base manually. They could have updated it but if not they should either make resigning only affect you as a loss or let ppl destroy their base without penalty after a certain amount of time has passed.

This is like seriously far fetched but it would be cool if you resigned. Grunts would put their guns down and their arms up as if they were surrendering. That would be neat. Seriously though, I know this would take a lot of work but if you’re playing in a team say 2v2 and your partner resigns, surely a normal/heroic AI taking it’s place would be a good solution? It’s fair with everyone and the enemy team is still getting a good game and you still have a chance.

agree, I want to hear the explanation to this, we know when we can’t win dunno why they have to force us to play extra -_-

Banished takes no prisoners, that would be pretty brutal to see the UNSC surrender and get shot to death.

Um, they do take prisoners, otherwise the Alice-130 campaign mission wouldn’t exist.

I think resigning should be penalized in doubles and triples, because of the detriment to the team. However, the penalty in singles is ridiculous. It’s customary RTS endgame to GG and regisn, and often percieved as salty to try to “hold on”. I wish they’d remove the penalty.

Weren’t they about to be executed? In the logs one of the survivors of the attacked went to surrender and they said they never heard from him again.

Even so, they were taking prisoners, even if temporarily. Why would they go into the trouble of caging the guys to kill them later when they could kill them on the spot? There’s literally no reason why any of those prisoners were still alive!

What exactly is the penalty? What do you lose 60% of? EXP to next rank or something?

You take a huge hit to your skill rank.

Yup, would save some time when you only need to wait while they destroy your bases.
That’s not the only fix I would say it needs, it may not grant XP, but resign does count for challenges, so I’ve seen dudes resign as soon as the game starts if they have to play a leader they don’t like… So maybe a timer that prevents people for such thing?

I have to agree. Although I destroy everything and send my army to die instead is still bad.

Because the Brutes are known to eat, the prisoners. I doubt they would interrogate them if they didn’t interrogate any of the people from the Original Camp. Even in other missions there were captured soldiers and I doubt they used them as bait or traps, Phoenix Logs go a bit deeper into why I think they were going to be executed regardless later on.

Especially when your teammate get an unfuturnate DeSync early on.

Yeah great idea let’s just not put a penalty so players can screw over their teammate with no repercussions…it goes both ways honorable or not. The penalty is a good idea, just destroy your base and units, not that hard to remember >.>

Punishing for resigning is absolutely pointless. Players can just delete their bases to avoid the penalty. Might as well save everyone time and get rid of the negative consequence for resigning. That is how it was with Halo Wars 1 and it was never an issue.

My problem is when if I die because the opponent wiped me 15 min into a potentially 16 min or 45 min + game do I resign after I’m a spectator or what? Just spending time watching randoms fight is stupid in my opinion if I have 1-3 hours to play but sometimes I want that 600exp for my loss…

I’m so sick of players complaining about 2v2 randoms. Play with friends or don’t play ranked. Its that simple. This thread is about how if a game is over I should be able to be like “Ok, its over gg” followed by a respectful resign. If some random wants to quit on you in 2v2, he’s going to quit on you. He could just as easily delete his base too.

Oh yeah. To keep them fresh. That explains a lot. You won this argument, buddy, but I’ll be back! Nice talking with you.
