Fix the Radar 343 Huge Discrepancy in stats

Let me explain. The Radar in arena is so small, that the people that the people who are doing well are just sprinting and running and gunning with no skill involved no strategy its all about who sees the other players first. If you look at players stats or mine for instance you will see that I’m not doing very well stats wise K/D in Arena Slayer but in Big team Battle I’m doing very well in, and its not just me Ive seen a lot of players who are very good in big team battles but also are not so great in area. Why? In fact most players in arena are about even or negative in their KD for example 5000 kills 5200 Deaths. Then in Big team Battle the same person has 5200 kills 3000 deaths. That is a huge difference. We have had a radar for 15 years. Why has it changed? I seriously look after every match and see the stats that the best players in the round have. And out of at least 500 to 600 players only 4 or so have plus 1000 stats kd in arena. That is horrible 4 out of 600. I will not play another match of arena slayer or any arena modes again except Big team battle unless you fix the radar back to how it has been in the past. Look at my stats in Big Team Battle ex: 9.6 kd in BTB mode vs Slayer arena 1.5 Its an incredible difference the radar makes. The Radar brings skill, to go off the radar in the past you had to plan when to crouch etc. It took skill, now in Arena Slayer you don’t have to crouch you can sprint and jump straight into someone without showing on the radar,be walking right next to someone and nothing showing etc. This has to be fixed, If big team battle wasn’t in this game currently, I would not play it.

The radar is so short in Halo 5 now that if an enemy tank is touching your tank, it doesn’t show up on radar. That’s right… the tank is larger than the radar range.

I’ve always been a oozed by how small the radar is in Halo 5 but one thing really highlighted it to me the other day. My friend and I were playing Infection and we were hiding on opposite ends of a very small room in R.I.P Tide and we couldn’t see each others blips enough though we were very close to each other.

lol why are you watching your radar when you are in a tank? IT’S IN FRIGGIN’ THIRD PERSON VIEW.

BTB has always been really easy to get a good K/D in… In almost every Halo game I’m 3.0K/D in BTB. I don’t find it has anything to do with radar. Arena and BTB play significantly different from each other. You also tend to find much better players in Arena than BTB.

I would bring it up to 20 meters or around 25 but that’s it.

While I agree the radar has a smaller range than it used to. Map awareness, teamwork and callouts will give you far more information than a radar. I got used to it, and I still use it all the time but the 3 things I listed are far more valuable.

One thing to remember Arena vs Big team or Warzone.

Big Team and Warzone are casual aimed playlists. Where you will be match with anyone and everyone within reason. Its easy to get in a game of randoms with 8 or more players and have a huge KDA. Particularly warzone where going 30+ kills and <10 deaths is normal and generally you will have players on both teams with numbers like that or even better win or lose. Big team isnt much different, if you have a giant map and you sit back with a sniper a killing frenzy is easy.

Arena is competitive, the maps are smaller and you have a rank. You get matched with people around your own rank you cant expect to be matched with people almost, as good or better than you in a 4v4 setting and getting huge KD consistently. This is doubly as true with a good team. In the time it took you/me to spot eachother I would have ‘called out your position, weps youre holding, shield strength and whether or not I need help’ if my team mate isnt team shooting you and you manage to kill me, guaranteed you will be on shot. I will call out ‘your 1 shot, where you are and where you are going’ you will be mopped up. And then you have the objective game types where it is easy to have huge amounts of deaths but it can be necessary/byproduct to/of winning a game.

Arena is just a different playing ground. Not even a Champion 1 in Team arena will have a huge KDA because they are matched with Champions and high level Onyx’s in well oiled teams.

I’m m not gonna lie I stopped ready after your “explanation” for anyone doing well in the game. Running and gunning aimlessly gets you wrecked in this game. If you get run up on, on the regular it says more about your skill than theirs. Benefit of the doubt tho lemme go continue reading.

comparing arena slayer to BTB doesn’t help you case at all. Even just he fact that brb is BR spawn will greatly change someone’s K/D.

There is nothing wrong with prefering the old radar but if you have had the game since launch or holiday season and the radar is still the reason you are dying it plays on your level of skill.

Regardless if you agree with its range after a month of playing you should stop telling yourself "oh in halo 3 I would have seen him ". You’re not playing halo 3 and the death is on you.

I have a positive K/D in arena slayer but not mixed. I can honestly say playing the objective KILLS my K/D more than the radar ever did.

im finally feeling comfortable online and it took some time. I used to hit start and look at my sensitive after every death and blame it for my death. When in reality I could have Been playing much better

EDIT: sorry if terrible written, of an iPhone screen lol

Because you still can’t see behind you? It would be nice to know if someone is running up behind you to board you BEFORE they board you.
