Fix the overpowered and too rapid punch

The spamming of the punch button and being able to run through multiple shots and still take a bunch of people down with spam punches is ridiculous fix this

I was going to report this. Thank you for mentioning this issue. While it is fun to do, it is too overpowered. The melee animation cancel makes it an almost guaranteed kill even when a player is at full health and shields. I first saw this on TikTok and it is being used a lot more. Hope that 343 does something about this because it is broken.

It is already removed internally and will not be in launch. Fix just didn’t make it into flight as it was fixed is a version more recent than that of the flight.

Agreed, last leg of the flight there it was rampant as. Everyone seemed to be using it. No point shooting atm.

What do you mean it was fixed in a more recent version than that of the flight? I looked on Multiplayer Technical Preview Overview | Halo - Official Site (en) and did not find it on the issues. Do you have proof to back this up? In any case, it would be good to get this trending because we got more days to enjoy the flight and it would be more enjoyable if 343 removed it before the flight ends on October 4th. They should remove it tomorrow 09/28 while the flight is closed so we can enjoy some more balanced matchmaking for the rest of the flight in my opinion.

What I mean by fixed in a more recent build is that the build we are playing on for the flight is probably at least a month old. For flight 1 the version we were playing on was created 2 months prior to that flight. They do that to make sure they can test the version for catastrophic errors and such before greenlighting it for a flight. The issue of the melee cancel has already been fixed but was simply fixed after the version for the flight was branched off. Here is a tweet from a member of 343i stating the issue has been fixed. https://twitter.com/ske7ch/status/1441433376989204494?t=zq0y2tUUFQXpt_lh5DLBFg&s=19

flights/demos/alphas/beta arent necessary the most updated or up to date versions. usually they aim more at stability than say, gameplay balance, but that can vary with the purpose of the test. And because its an older build there is no point of implementing a gameplay fix for the current flight, as frustrating as it might be.
