The shields color are wrong because of three things :
- The damage shield is too much colored, the light is too bright and artificial. Personalized our Spartan is useless when he became a buble of light each time he is wounded
- The damage shield can be seen from too far, barely a head protrudes from a corner that you only see it
- Having a red allie or a blue ennemy with opposite color shield is really disturbing
I think there are solutions to fix those problems:
- Reduce the shield brightness
- Reduce the thickness outline
- Remove the outline for the enemy. The allied are already well identified, so if we see a normal Spartan, it would have to be an enemy.
At least, propose it as an option in the parameter, but that would say some player would be advantaged.
So 343, I respectfully propose you those solutions and I hope you will hear my point.
For the halo waypoint community, here a poll :
- Reduce brightness shield and remove the outline for the enemy
- Reduce brightness shield
- Remove the outline for the enemy
- Let it like it is

If I’m not mistaken there is an option in the menu to change the enemy (and friend) outline colour, and possibly shields too?

There is an option to change the colour, but not to reduce the brightness
there have been so many times where the shield outshines the player outline, and often i don’t even see the sodding outline, and getting confused by the player armor coating. if anything, the outline needs brightened
as i side note, the shield is inconsistant. at times it LOOKS like they’re about to pop… but i guess they were at full health. or i’d see the person sparking, no shields, pop the head or even try to melee, NOPE, their shields re-pop as if they always has full shields

Reduce the outline intensity, reduce the shield intensity, but make it NOTICABLE IT IS BROKEN. Pretty much all I seen on screen is yellow vs blue particles lmao.

If people want it less bright and 343 adds an option to turn it down, that’s 100% fine with me. I like it how it is now and will keep it like it is.
My only issue with this is that the outline blends in with some background making characters literally invisible (obviously this depends what colour you have selected for enemy and what the background is on the map). This is even worse if they are crouched in a Stronghold as they just blend in.
Give me good old Red vs Blue back any day.

Be nice to have a toggle for that.
