Fix the OP aim assist and bullet magnetism 343

This opinion is based on a false report that ended up being footage of an actual aimbot. Get yourself a controller and try playing with it. It’s nothing like “aim lock” the blatant cheater was using in the video clip.

I said it was more akin to aim-lock.

I’m not saying it is aim-lock. I hate that.
Also I didn’t know of a video.
My uncle has played Halo with me since 2002 and he recently picked it up on PC.
He complains that aim-assist is turned up.
I complain that PC players get an edge on Console players once more.

If aim assist is non existent you either messed up your settings or you re just bad.

I hate when I get shot through objects.

I never said it was non existent, but I’m pretty sure you meant to reply to the person I replied to? Besides, I mainly play on KBM.

my bad i meant to reply to a guy you replied to

No big deal, that’s what I assumed anyway.

My point is that they found a better spot in that game it seems.
That game has more skill expression in gunfights than halo does imo.

Oh I’m uh pretty much done with this post.

Yeah. I really don’t want to start this topic up again. Or spend time testing anything. All I know is that aim assist is wildly inconsistent from what I’ve heard from you and ZeroSine2760.

From what I can gather from my own tests, I don’t really think it’s enough to definitely prove much upon closer review. Sometimes it’s super effective and sometimes it’s trash. All I can really say is that 343 needs to add clarification on this subject.

The aim assist, by Halo standards, is the lowest it’s ever been. Coupling that with the screwed up controller deadzones, controller players are left with a fairly inconsistent aiming experience. If 343 aren’t getting that right, especially after they did so well updating MCC’s aiming controls, you can bet they didn’t get mice controls right, either.

I think you’re best bet would be to ask 343 for a update to mice controls so it doesn’t feel so dreadful. However, I still stand by stance on crossplay. If you want a more consistent competitive experience, you should start playing with your own platform. Crossplay just adds too many extra variables to account for.

Don’t take this personal but, the issue with your testing is you’re limited. Not only limited, you want to paint your own picture. None of my testing was skewed or rehearsed, hence the reason why I was pretty shocked at the end of my one video. Even with my second video, nothing was rehearsed and I did everything on the fly.

Also, if you dig up what I’ve said in the past I always said aim assist is fine but it was the stronger bullet mag controller receives was the issue. After seeing first hand just how strong aim assist really is, I since then changed my mind. Both are too strong in it’s current state.

You mean on PC lol… where the major advantage is being able to turn 360 within 2.1 milliseconds… and being able to perfectly aim using a mouse… controller you have to use both sticks and movement which makes it a thousand times harder… and aim assist really isn’t that great… not sure what you are talking about.

You cannot be serious, right?

You’re telling me there’s a problem with my video because I wasn’t shocked that my hypothesis turned out to be true?

I mean I did everything I was supposed to do. I showed bullet magnetism on both controller and kbm in my video. That’s it. I did this in less than 5 minutes.

Seems like splitting hairs to me.

Show me the check list of things “you’re” suppose to do.

You did everything you could do with what you have, is the better way to say it. You fall short, and nobody outside of narrow minded would even consider taking what you done as a strong form of analyzing.

You can probably paint a small room in 5 minute but most likely, it won’t turn out as good if you took your time.

Mind telling me why you’re giving me the run around? I don’t get it. Just because my test doesn’t meet your standards doesn’t me the results aren’t valid.

  1. I plugged in my kbm along with my controller.
  2. Lined up the crosshairs and fired 3 times on each input. Inside and outside RRR.

To make sure I didn’t accidentally move the mouse when going to fire, I bound the fire button to a random key on the keyboard. This way, I never had to reposition the reticle.

You can see which input I’m using because the buttons change in the bottom righthand side of the screen. Right above the nade and equipment counter.

It took several tries to get this right because the timer keep running out ending the game. I got my results and that was the end of it. Not that deep. It’s not like I’m trying to film a movie.

You’re right about that, that was the end of it.

We’ve seen this sentiment a million times. I’m convinced that controller players are just garbage and have no idea what they’re talking about. I say we just nerf aim assist because if it’s “practically non-existent”, they won’t notice the change either way, right? :person_shrugging:

No dont alter it negatively. Its weaker than it was in halo 5 4 and 2
