Okay still, original Xbox One/Playstation 4 or the Series X and Playstation 5, no one is thinking that is equal to a 3080. There’s a thing called optimizing.
No, I’m not going to go watch either of those, as if they’re trying to roast people for pointing out facts or dismissing claims that something weak is overpowered… Then yeah that’s a no from me, get a big enough headache from the idiocy on here.
As for the proof, oh boy, well you asked for it. You can read above what I was talking about, but in addition to that let me tackle the “stats” for you, and I’ll take it slow.
You’re attempting to reference the tracker stats that claimed more controller users were in the upper echelon of accuracy than M&K users, and that regardless of where in the overall playerbase for stats, controller users had higher accuracy. Still swear someone mentioned earlier on here that was debunked, but regardless, let me tell you the list of issues with this.
There is no accounting for history, that is to say experience. Most of the Halo veterans are going to be on controller, even with extremely weak aim assist they will destroy a M&K user, even if said M&K played shooters.
The TTK (Time to Kill) is very high in Halo compared to most other shooters, and people strafe. It, at least in my experience, is very annoying and difficult to track a target constantly making micro movements. This combos back to experience, the veterans are used to this by well over a decade.
Engagement distance. The biggest one, in my opinion. Accuracy stats have no way to account for any these, and certainly can’t account for engagement distance. This is the range at which you’re engaging a target for a fight, by which most controller players aren’t doing so across the map. And, given the strength of the AR, is no stretch to say the controller users are getting into close range fights more often than M&K users. Additionally for this, it’s overall accuracy, so if someone on M&K is used to harassing people at a distance and they keep popping shots at some guy very far, their misses still count as bad overall accuracy.
Literally any singular point of this wholly invalidates trying to use accuracy statistics as an argument for aim assist being overly strong.
But wait, I can preemptively hear it now, “Bruh xqc used a controller and was barely aiming and he got kills.” Yes, yes he did, but his performance while doing that was horrendous. Extremely suboptimal kill times against, quite honestly, terribly skilled beginner players. For him claiming controllers were overpowered with aim assist, he did pretty bad in his example.
And, no, I’ll head off the “aimbot” before you try it. An aimbot both snaps to people, regardless of you seeing them, when they’re in render distance, and shoots for you. You can probably guess what two things aim assist is not doing, and if you really want to claim it’s doing these for you, play a match without touching the right stick at all and upload the link here. If you’re playing against even halfway competent people you won’t do well, and I’m more than happy to pick it apart for you.
