You know that the network sucks i don’t like it at all it’s not like Bungie’s connection was the best im asking you nicely to fix it 343 because if the network keeps doing this it will suck so please fix it.
You tell them to fix the network but don’t even state the problem?
If you want it resolved, you need to be cooperative.
If you are talking about the network for online matchmaking, then I think you are delusional. The network we have now for online is probably the best out of all of the Halo games.

Yes except the mm system fails miserably, I put “good connection” preference in and I get a host from 10 thousand miles away, that makes total sense, considering I live in central europe. Not to mention, I run a 100 mbps dl speed, and a 25 mbps upload speed, yet the only time this game EVER gave me host was when my router was crashing, and had an abysmal .25 meg upload… Other than that, when it gave me host ONE other time, my friends all said the connection was absolutely perfect, I live in germany, and the all live in UK.
When you enable “Good Connection” you search for other people who also put on “Good Connection”, meaning you get a lobby full of bad hosts.
I used to search with it on and got games that lagged terribly, I stopped searching with it and went into 4v4 lobbies and I stopped lagging.
i think the network just sucks i don’t like it sometimes i don’t even get the ways I die
i think they should work on it because it tell you what every one has good connection but they are lag like hell
> i think they should work on it because it tell you what every one has good connection but they are lag like hell
You think it would search for people that have a good connection to YOU, the one searching, but that would make too much sense.
I think its YOUR internet dude.
Dude Halo doesn’t have servers like Battlefield. It works with hosting…when you lag, 99% of the time it’s your connection. Personally i sometimes have lag issues in some playlists like Big Team Battle and Multi Team but when i experience them it’s my connection’s fault. I play Reach really fine and if lag is common to you then it’s definitely your connection.

This, to the seventh power. If you are consistently having connection issues, it’s your own router’s fault. The only way to absolve the problem is to improve your internet. Buy a better router, upgrade your internet plan, switch from wireless to wired, there’s plenty you can do. A bad host only comes up every once in a while, at least for me (I’m never host), and given those rates there’s no way you’re running into that bad of hosts.
Something to keep in mind here is that every game has its own netcoding, which is basically “how well the game works with online play”. Reach is praised for being one of the best netcoded games on the Xbox. And it’s definitely praised for its superior netcoding to Halo 3. So it’s not the fault of netcoding either.

Unfortunately, what you are describing only applies for the US, if you live in europe, or anywhere else in the world, it is a grab bag of hosts. I run a 100mbps connection download and 25 mbps upload, and the only way i get good connections is if i search language, and switch my language to german cuz i live in germany, other than that, it usually gives host to someone in canada or the middle of nowhere in the US. And dont say the population is not high in europe, it is, hell i have over 1000 people preferred fro europe and the list is growing, its sad that i have to do bungie / 343’s job for them with the mm’ing.

Dude…i am from greece…and i bet that your real connection is not 100mbps…you can check your real speed at http://www.speedtest.net…
Make sure there are enough players in a playlist, otherwise you get an american host and thats just horrible for any european.
Any play list with less then 1k people in is usually a bad idea, depends on the time of day aswell
They can’t fix p2p hosts as they’re not under their control.
They could introduce dedicated servers to ensure a more consistent online experience but MS are jerks and care only about screwing as much money out of their consumers as possible while doing the bare minimum they have to.
i hate halo reach netcode. I’ll admit that i do not have the fastest internet but had no problems in h2. i don’t know but i still find halo 2 netcode the best. Sure there was huge host advantage compare to reach but beside host advantage there was no mutual beatdowns or mutual kills. it felt that in halo 2 if i got the last shoot or melee first in the game (even off host) it would say i did it first.
ex. in reach swat i can shoot someone in the head watch him take a full step die then have his floating dmr shoot and then gets a revenge on me. another know one is the “infection betrayal glitch” a sword slices then the shotgun shoots.
Halo 2 had a lot of bullet magnetism, even more than Reach. It made the game more consistent especially online but lowered the skill gap as even if your shot wasn’t as good as your opponents you could still compete.
For all its downsides I take easy and consistent Halo 2 over complex and inconsistent Reach. The randomness of the internet is enough of a PITA without adding intentionally random game mechanics like bloom.

I think Battlefiled has dedicated servers and the connection lagging is extreme!!!

speedtest.net is garbage, it tests the connection to your pc, not your xbox, if you know anything about networking, you can allocate speeds to your xbox through your router if you have a good one ( ihave on of the best ) and ok, i have 95 megs running to my xbox and 5 to my pc, so speedtest means nothing. I have had many techs come out here from my IP (the best in germany ) and run official diagnostics to get me the best connection possible, and I am recieving 100 megs all the time. I pay for what I aget, unlike a lot of people one live, who pay for crap, and complain. I have even paid to get new lines put in especially for my house, so trust me, I am getting the best net possible in germany. Which is some of the best in europe, and for SOME reason this game decides to always give host to people in the middle of nowhere in the US, or in australia, or hell even singapore!

Thats because they have US dedicated servers. If they applied worldwide dedicated servers like unreal tournament 3, there would be no lag. And if you lag, its your fault. I played that game and had no lag -EVER-, and they were running lobbies of 100 people, 5 games running simultaneously.
