seriously why isn’t this fix. LAG plagues this game so much between server issues and a control that takes .5-1.5 secs to decide if you want to melee or slam. Pretty much if your in the air and you go to melee someone your screwed if they do the same and their on the ground.
While your at it fix the stupid auto crouch when you melee someone to
guys efd something up
Not sure exactly what your having a problem with as I can’t understand your post. Melee isn’t broken and if your having trouble with it then your probably clenching your controller to tightly while hitting your melee. Relax your grip and you shouldn’t crouch anymore when hitting melee. Be sure your clench protection option is turned on. If your in the air then just tap the melee and you won’t do the ground pound.

Yeah I know I wrote it kinda -Yoink-.
This isn’t a problem with clenching believe me. There is a notable input lag from the game. If you jump in the air and quickly melee tap it takes anywhere from .5 1-5. secs for it do melee. Try it for your self, I can tap the melee button with in ms and feel the lag between tap to output. Every one i speak with once i point it out says the same thing. Its quit annoying, if you jump and its between you and someone on the ground and you both melee, the person on the ground will be most likely the one to win that battle.
no idea what you are talking about, I dont experience any imput lag, now this doesnt mean it doesnt happen but I haven’t experienced it… yet lol
Give it a shot, quickly hit the melee button in the air. Its not as responsive as it should compare to when you are on the ground.
Jumping melee is slower than ground melee yes so just dont jump and melee.

i do, every game cause I know the correct way to melee, even with the delay if i end up getting one (which i dont believe i have) i can get the kill, use that AR lower their shield some and finish it with a melee, air melee’s are some of the easiest kills to get, I get them all the time

That’s just you accidentally clicking the crouch button. I would know. I do the same thing. It might just be force of habit due to RS being melee in pretty much every other FPS

dude your exaggerating. it does not take up to 1.5 seconds to melee when in the air. ive meleed countless people mid air and have no problem whatsoever. youre doing something wrong.
try conneting your controller so there is less latency. there will always be some lag in the system, but some is from wireless controllers and wireless systems. connect everything and you will see more responsiveness.
but this whole “everyone i point it out to notices it” is just a load of rubbish. youve pointed it out to me and it is not a problem. it does not take up to 1.5 seconds to melee while in the air. if you dont like how much time it takes to melee while in the air then dont jump so much. problem solved.
the best players out there do not jump before they melee unless its completely necessary.
I noticed this right away at launch. Meleeing immediately after jumping causes you to sometimes not punch. If a person is dropping down on you and you want to close the gap, jumping and punching is a good way to do that. And I think the only reason people noticed it is because you’ve never noticed it NOT working in every other Halo game. Now if there is a reason for this it fine but it just seem more like a flaw more than anything.

Good point (bold Above) hadn’t thought of that.
For people that think it takes longer when in the air, there is a reason, your holding the button too long and the game is registering that you want to ground pound but you let go before it goes into the ani9mation which cancels it, therefore making nothing happen, you basically let go of the button in a weird limbo state between a regular melee and a ground pound.

I’ve never noticed this behavior in Halo 5 or in any other Halo game.

Normally I would agree with you. but I know I’m specifically Tapping Jump and Tapping Melee. I understand the difference between Melee/Assassination and Melee/ground pound. The window isn’t big but I understand where it is.
I think, for me personally its more of what Phoreman said about wireless Vs Wired.
