No, they need to get rid of that feature. Holding the flag is an instant beat down and now they give us a magnum with INCREASED damage? That was really a stupid move.
Its fine how it is. It has a high rate of fire but has a tiny amount of ammo. Most people I see that spam at mid range will only put you low health then have to reload. I ok with it being easier for a spam magnum at close range to hit as well.

Dude what you just described is just a reskinned DMR

I don’t like the feature either. But if they’re going to put a way-point over your head, then as the flag carrier, you need to be able to better defend yourself. I’m talking about the glitch that allows you to fire one shot and then wait 2 seconds before you can fire anymore.

I don’t see anything mentioning “High amounts of aim assist and magnetism, high RoF, barely any bloom, and beats everything.” in my argument.

I don’t think i have ever encountered this glitch, as I don’t spam the damn gun because I’m not a noob.
> I always find myself creeping towards my tool of destruction becoming the Magnum, I suppose 343 wanted to counter the Boltshot’s high damage.
When I played Reach, it was my favorite in Slayer or anything besides BTB. If you wanted to dominate with the pistol, you had to be completely accurate with it. You couldn’t miss more than 3 shots in that game otherwise you’re screwed.
Maximum Bloom slightly reduced, or at least reduce how quickly it maxes out. Some other suggestions would be to make it so that the amount of time it takes to reduce from Full Bloom to 1/2 Bloom is reduced, but not change the amount of time from 1/2 to Normal, or make it so that if you time your shots (button inputs) well, the Bloom stays around the 1/2 mark, but if you fire off rapid shots and cause the Bloom to max out, the amount of time it takes for it to go back to normal is longer (kind of a play on the PP overcharge.)
Fix the hitbox for Pistol shots. This isn’t a severe problem or anything- the majority of the time I don’t have any problems, but every now and then, I’ll fire off (what should have been) a headshot that counts as a body shot. This is either due to the massive size of the hitbox, the fact that it seems like body shots take priority over headshots far too often (if your reticule is overlapping both the body and head of a player’s hurtbox, it seems to almost always register as a body shot,) or the actual size of a player’s hurtbox areas. Or a combination of the three.
PLEASE NOTE: I unfortunately do not get to play offline Halo anymore (which is a real shame- that’s when it’s the best,) so I am making these statements based on online play only. There’s always a chance that the delay between sending and receiving the data could be the issue, but in this case I don’t think it is. I could be wrong, though.
With all of that being said, I probably wouldn’t be upset if the Pistol doesn’t get changed at all; I’m just offering suggestions that might help fine-tune gameplay.

Unfortunately. I’m sure it’s hard to balance the Carbine’s “rapid flinch” properly, but at the same time, something DEFINITELY needs to be done to improve it. However, the Boltshot and Beam Rifle need to take priority in weapon balancing, and it would be nice if 343i would add a “Test Gameplay Type” to the playlist so that players could, well, test out the settings that they’re considering implementing. That was one of the smartest things Blizzard has done for Diablo 3, and I really think 343i could benefit significantly from the same sort of idea.
I think the magnum is fine the way it is. It’s powerful up close, but does nothing if you’re spamming from mid-range. I honestly think the DMR could inch closer to how the magnum is, and that’s because of bloom. I’m probably one of the very very few who thought the bloom in Reach was perfect.
The Carbine is the gun that needs a buff. That gun does nothing.
