Plain and simple, there is so much that is just completely alien from halo with this game. The join in progress system is horrendously broken… don’t have to go into detail about it.
If you live outside the US every game you get matched into is a laggy mess.
It lags different from any other halo game, you skip around when moving too fast and just things that make the game literally unplayable besides the usual registration delay that we are used to.
343 tried to make the game playable by everyone by toning down the difficulty curve… trying to pull in the CoD audience, well guess where they are now 343? They are playing Blops2 and not you’re inconsistent laggy mess of a MM that you try to pass as halo. And you left the true halo base who tries to stick around for HALO with a mess that is hardly recognizable.
The numbers are already dwindling down to about 150k people a day, (Reach had 100k a day towards the end of it’s life) and it was widely considered the worst halo experience at the time!
You limited custom games, you TOOK OUT theater from campaign and spartan ops, you removed sniper headshot, stick, and perfection medals (classic competitive medals) and replaced them with a useless “sniper kill” and “plasma kill” and extremely unsatisfying meaningless medals. Your “Death Cams” do not work even after the update to fix them… oh and the “press X to kill the man who just bested you” It’s even in oddball and slayer pro?
Please tell me 343 what good did you actually do for halo? You shined it up with pretty graphics. You added a good loadout system that allowed people to pick their starting weapon… so you don’t end up with AR’s on Valhalla. and… well that’s about all I can think of.
The cons outweigh the pros by a massive amount… I put my trust in you, and I have been let down… 10 years of halo… I wish it ended with the original trilogy.
I absolutely love halo… and that is why I am upset.
I think it is too early to give up on this installment of Halo. I do agree taht the Multi is a mess right now and not at all fun to play on BTB. (My favorite gametype)
I am really sick of all the stupid medals. As far as I am concerned, they mean so little because they are so easy to get that it is just a Barbie/Ken add on like all the useless armor options.
I want better gameplay, not window dressing!
im in the US and most of my games are laggy as hell, i cant hit anyone and get insta killed. on top of that, either because of the lag or just a -Yoink- game mechanic, you can strafe shoot. its ruined swat and makes the sniper a zero skill weapon (not that it takes skill anyway, everyone just spams it at your chest).
Yeah I think it’s a complete load of crap there’s SIX gametypes that were in Reach that are not in Halo 4. Not even counting no attack/defend modes.
And joining in progress is awful. I really wish I could turn it off. We need an option to disable it, along with all the other matchmaking preference options that should have been included in the game.
We can complain all we want about the issues in the game like the crappy CoD servers, boltshot,Promethean vision, dmr, horrible maps, no ranking system, etc…
The real problem lies with 343i’s decision makers who thought releasing the game in this state was the correct way to go.
I am dumbfounded they they continued to pursue “their view” of halo despite the outcry they received from Reach when they released the crappy map packs and TU.
My GF got the game hoping to be another epic halo game, but after watching me play online she has lost all motivation to even play it because off all the broken mechanics and especially the maps.
All though i do not agree completely with you OP, I like the way you put it. Instead of just complaining. Also, the fact that you added the last comment made it that much better. I didnt feel like I was reading another hate thread. So Props.
Just because you won’t play it doesn’t mean many others won’t. I for one plan on playing for a long time, regardless of whether things get “fixed” or not.

Although I totally can see where people can enjoy themselves playing this game I think it’s a bit strange you would continue to play if said problems were not fixed, that’s just lazy by 343’s part
But also I don’t know if you are just being sarcastic with the word “fixed” or not. It’s hard to tell tone of voice through reading text : P
this is my primary concern. I cant wait for a year for a bandaid for problems like the TU did for Reach.
Problems need to be fixed NOW. there needs to be some acknowledgement of problems and a timeframe they will be fixed in.
Not even two weeks in. You people should be ashamed. 343 has stated they will be doing WEEKLY updates. WEEEEEEEEEKKKLLLLYYYYYYYY… You haven’t even given them a chance to get a second update in.

I live in Europe and almost none of my games were laggy. And my internet connection isn’t good at all.
BTW I’m 95% sure that CoD is ten times laggier than any Halo game.
> also the lagg indeed is really bad! im from austria (not australia) and i just teleport around all the time
I’m from Canada and this happens to me a lot too, although it isn’t any different from any other halo game. Halo 3 was the worst for this with Halo 4 being not too far behind. Reach actually wasn’t that bad for lag.

Go outside? What does that have to do with my extreme concern for the future of my childhood’s favorite game that I have not stopped playing and have some of my fondest memories with LAN’s, good MM games, and just HALO? Those last two comments were unnecessary.
