343i needs to fix the issue of early quitters immediately. Like right now. It is totally ruining the arena experience. If not every match then every other match players leave the game and change the outcome of the match. This is not a competition of skills but rather a competition of luck. Who is on the team without leaving players ! …
Solutions:
Ban time for early quitters. Follow the CS model.
Negative amount of REQ points as Did not finish % increases
Extreme rank penalty
Introduction of a casual playlist
In-progress joining (new players risk no penalty to their rank for loosing a in-progress game)

I think this solution will drop H5 even further down the xbl most played chart (it currently sits at #9 a month from launch)
You don’t fix the quitting problem by punishing people
You fix the quitting problem by creating a product worth playing

Good then the people that actually WANT to play the game will stay. Something does indeed need to happen. Its starting to become the same issue TMCC has with quitters and afk players. Reach handled it pretty well by issuing out timed bans. The people that quit need to be punished for sure. Or add in JIP.

You understand populations fluctuate right?
It may be a 9 when you posted this but it will go back up.

Punishing people will only cause them to leave the game
For instance, if I get a quit ban for qutting out of laggy -Yoink- matchs where there is rubber banding latency issues coupled with a absoultly messed up aiming mechanism, I’ll just go play something else with the short spare time I have, and I think many people would do the same

Well then that at least means you wont be quitting in H5 and it would work the way it is supposed to as I said. So yes if you are seeing lag or issues with the game, go play something else and stop quitting.
On a side note I have yet to see a single ounce of lag in H5 at all.

So your suggestion is for me to simply stop playing a game I shelle dout a decent amount of coin for because the developers can’t get (^&*( right?
We were told that we would have selectable data centers so I wouldn’t get matched up on US servers every flipping game
That’s why I’m having lag and latency issues, I’m getting 250+ms pings to US servers instead of connecting to the Sydney azure servers here in aus
Give me a break man…Halo is never going to improve with people defending this absolute crap we are force fed by 343i
Something is obviously broken with how 343i is banning people for inactivity / quitting / suicides, etc.
Last night a friend of mine (who had just purchased the game) stepped away to drain the main vein and when he came back he was banned for several minutes. As a first time player to Halo 5 he was pretty surprised.
I agree with the OP - quitting early needs to be fixed - ruins the gameplay experience and it happens a lot!!
People still play Counter Strike a lot. Everyone appreciates that there is a time ban in place. So why would the solution not work for Halo 5. And what about the other solutions. Any comments and thoughts ?

That would work if there weren’t only ranked playlists right now. Many people play and I mean a ton play casually, and “CS:GO time bans” would just stop them from ever coming back.

sometimes if my connection is not “ideal” or for whatever reason this happens I will be able to search for a match and as soon at the match is about to start it kicks me out with an error message. I repeated the process a few times and it appears restarting the xbox (holding in the power button until it turns off) fixes the problem. not sure if the game starts or not but if it does this could explain your experiences?
We wouldn’t have this problem if they hadn’t geared the game towards hardcore elite e-sports play, average to below average players get stomped in this game so they don’t want to play and quit. Being killed seven times in a row right off the bat isn’t fun, so they quit the game. Probably why the population is falling already, all of the casual players have had enough of the MLG crap.

Thats right. That is why social will be so welcomed. I find it incredible how brave it was to omit this from the release. Blunder of many. However, I am a big fan of the game overall.
I royally hate this about btb. I also think the ranking system is flawed. I can’t escape platinum because of poor team play and quitters. Makes my blood boil.
it would help if the game would actually match for skill, i love the game but this is one of my biggest knocks on it. you get champions and onyxs going against platinums and below how does that make sense?

a few days ago I lagged out of my first game and it was bad. The kind of lagging where I was shooting and a guy Spartan charged by me and just kept going. I wish I could of had a video of it lol. After that it tried to reboot, but everyone was just glitching and I got dropped. I watched Netflix after so I don’t know what the deal was.
