I have never been one to care about competitive rank, but in Halo 5 it is forced upon me, my standing, my worth in this game is measured and displayed for all the world to see.
Except, it’s not, my worth is this game is determined by people that have no idea how to play Halo, no idea how to communicate, every time i climb a little I am knocked back down by pubs because it’s not always possible for me to play with friends, i get told i’m not good enough because people in my team are going 1 to f-yoink!-ing 18 in their KD.
That’s screwed.
Like seriously, the CSR needs to measure how an individual player performs as part of the team, how much they PTFO or runs chaos so their team can PTFO, that, or have a social playlist so that I don’t get told i’m crap everytime the matchmaking system puts me with people far out of my skill level.
The community have complained about your way of doing the CSR time and time again and yet you stubbornly refuse and so “No, it’s our game we’ll do what we want”, this is shocking considering all the good you’ve done for this community, why is this the one thing we can’t have?

Seriously, gratz on building a great game, you just need to listen to your players to make this the best it can be…
I don’t understand what individual player performance would do for your rank. It would be probably about the same if not lower. Also it is a team based game so the common goal to win should be the only incentive. As long as the team wins they get rewarded, and vise-versa for losing.
The biggest problem with the current ranking system is that there is not enough players to populate the game. This makes it harder for Onyx players and even Diamond players to get fair matches. Their ranking system is great in theory, but there isn’t a large enough population to really justify its existence. We might have social playlists in the near future.
CSR does measure how an individual performs in game. There are people who’ve been in groups for all 10 placement matches together and get placed in different leagues.
If you play better than your teammates you will get a better rank than them.

That is why Team Doubles is necessary, you can’t design a competitive game and just assume people are going to queue up with a party of 4. Almost everyone has at least 1 friend that they would be able to play with. I can’t stand duo queuing with my buddy just to get 2 scrubs who do not even communicate. Competition + Randomness = Bad Experience.
