for the love of god, stop making the new map packs requirements for Team Slayer. the new maps are not very good, in some cases feel very cluttered, and very hastily put together. they are just bad. and the GOOD maps (the normal, default ones) get buried underneath all the low-quality DLC maps. get rid of the requirements, fix the rotation and the variety of maps and game types that appear please, so that Team Slayer can once again be a playlist worth playing.
Pitfall, Monolith, and Skyline are all better than Haven, IMO.
Or keep the playlist as is so DLC owners will be satisfied BUT please CREATE A SEPARATE DLC-FREE PLAYLIST FOR SLAYER so peasants like myself can play slayer. The low population is killing the playlist (90% left) and is spilling over to a huge decline (5k) in the game’s overall population. Seriously, the DLC requirements are a huge issue.
This does NOT have to be a zero-sum game. You can please DLC owners and “cheap free” owners like me who paid $60 for the full game - both can be pleased separately versus hurting one to appease the other.
OP, you may be the first and only person I have ever seen say that the default maps are better than the DLC maps. I find almost all of the default maps to be horrendous.
DLC owner here. I would like Team Slayer playlist to go back to no DLC required as well. While I enjoy the DLC maps, I enjoy have a large pool of players to match with so much more. I thought DLC required on this playlist was just for a week, then for two weeks, yet it persists into the third week with no communication of future plans.
I understand they are trying to extract a few more dollars out of the fan base by forcing them to purchase DLC to play slayer, but this has turned into a situation of cutting the nose off to spite the face. I am guessing we’ll have to wait for DLC purchases to wane before they switch which playlist requires DLC.
Its sad realization that the stake holders of MSFT control the content of this game more than the playing community does.
Please bring back open slayer and be more frequent in your communications on this subject.
Thank you
Thanks for your feedback. You can read more about these specific Matchmaking playlist decisions in the 9.11 Halo Bulletin. Additionally, we’ll continue to provide updates regarding DLC requirements in Matchmaking. As a reminder, this is an experiment, and is in no way, shape or form a permanent move at this time.
