Fix swat now 343

Put br back to tactical slayer
Its embarrassing when you get commandos and six people leave

Figure it out 343

Swat variants have been around since Halo 3 2. It’s not a variant issue, it’s a frequency issue.

Non existent in infinite

But we got guns that can kill with body shots…

…it is in tac slayer, you’re just getting unlucky… but, this could be entirely solved if 343 gave the players more of a way yo choose specific gamemodes and varrients

So you say its bad that we have variants of SWAT with guns that can kill with bodyshots (which every gun can do), but then also mention Schwatguns is non-existent in Infinite. Which is it?

Off topic here but I would just like to mention that this wonderfull person has a metroid profile pic. Props to that.

A magnum and DMR are different than a machine gun, a pistol that blooms, a nail gun and red laser fire blinding everywhere. These variants are hardly “tactical”

What would be cool is have a br, sidekick, magnum, dmr, commando, and sniper mode. This gives plenty of variety and after they can do weapons like shotguns, rockets, cindershot, sentinal beam, and heatwave modes in a seperate playlist.

We would then have a tactical mode and go ape and abandon humanity mode

If we’re going off Reach standards, the only real difference is fire rate and bloom intensity lol

The Commando might have machine gun properties, but it’s really an evolution of the DMR in practical use.

Shotguns were an odd choice at one point.

Carbines in Halo 2 came before the Stalker rifle.

I find it difficult to believe military super soldiers engaging in combat on various interplanetary installations has anything to do with anything to do with SWAT applications either if we’re going purely off the deeper meanings of the terms.

I legit have played 15 games in a row tonight. Not one match with the BR.

I don’t think any of my comments were about the realism of Halo. I have been playing Halo multiplayer since Halo 2. Modifications and evolution are expected, but changing some things so drastically is potentially abandoning the audience. I, like many others, play mostly swat. I can score well with the variants. It just isn’t fun this way, in my opinion, and what seems to be many people’s opinions. Two body shots with a nail gun is not in the spirit of what the last 5 or 6 Halo games offered with Swat/tactical.

Oooookie dokie

A mode favoring precision weapons that changes out the main weapon for other precision weapons is “drastic”, especially when games as far back to Halo 2 set the precedent for it in the first place?

Hell, Halo 3 introduced ShWATguns which threw out all manner of headshot precision gameplay in favor of close quarters body shots. That’s not “drastic”?

Damage values can be modified to change this within the mode settings quite easily without touching the weapon itself. Enough people rallying to support such a change could accomplish this.

I understand the frustration with the variants superseding the base version of this mode, and that absolutely needs to be changed to favor/weight BR starts, but the modes themselves aren’t inherently bad. Imbalanced maybe, but that can be balanced.

Your right its not fun when you get commando swat and its just a revolving door of quitters

Well neither Schwatguns with the pump nor with Bulldog really make a lot of sense from a gameplay perspective for this game mode, but I’m actually intrigued as to why you seem to comparatively tout a no skill variant based around zero headshots/all body shots when you’re complaining about guns that can body shot kill (which all weapons technically can) a breath later:

That being said there are several variants of SWAT/TS that have been featured throughout the series:

  • Team SWAT (BR/DMR or both)
  • SWAT magnums (SWATnums/SWAT Pistols and variations)
  • SWAT shotguns (ShWATguns)
  • SWAT carbines (Halo 2 exclusive, Halo 3 pickups)
  • SWAT objective modes (oddball/CTF)

There is indication that more variants would’ve been added, but had weird coding (H3 carbines) or balance issues (Needle Rifle supercombine) prevented them from being implemented.

All that in mind, body shots can be balanced. But again, if you’re touting a specific mode that’s missing (ShWATguns) that relies on single tap body shots exclusively, why is a mode where a 2 tap anywhere on a body a problem?

I’ve had three BR matches in four days.

Just split the playlists already.

Nah, the weightings on the modes need to be different.

Unfortunately, this particular Halo is designed to be made easier [for noobs such as myself]. Yet the game difficulty fluctuates because of desync.

These variants are the worst I’ve ever played on Halo. The Mangler seems like we’re shooting tennis balls. The commando jumps all over the place making it impossible if you don’t get the head with the first shot. The stalker is a freakin sniper and sucks up close, plus only 7 shots before it overheats makes it tough when taking on more than one enemy. The sidekick?? WTH? That thing is a joke of a weapon, doesn’t compare to ANY of the previous pistols. These all SUCK! But if we are going to be forced to play with them then maybe throw them in ONCE every 8-10 games. The quitting is bad and I’ll admit I am one of those as I hate this crap. Will 343 get their heads out of their behinds and do something?? Or just FU to us??
