Fix Shutout spawns

I’m apalled at how terrible Lockout is now, and I feel Shutout is an appropriate name now due to being unable to play on the map.

The spawn trap is so foolproof now that you can lock down an entire team if you win your initial fights, it’s that fast.

Once you die if there is one guy at BR3 and one guy at S3, you spawn lift or elbow every single time.

So you toss one BR3, two S3, and one on top of lift AND IT WILL STILL SPAWN THEM LIFT.

BR3 gets to see anyone running bottom glass, makes a call out, and Sniper and lift just wreck your team through height advantage and your lack of cover.

The map is an excellent remake, but 343’s numbers to their spawning system have jacked the normal spawns for the map way out of proportion and adjustments needs to be made.

I don’t vote Shutout anymore because, regardless if you’re playing a team of 4 or not, you will have 80% of your spawns be at lift.

Haha, the spawning issues with that map will never be fixed, it is impossible. So good luck fixing another bad remake that doesn’t belong in Halo 4.

It’s been like that since Halo 2. You either own or get owned on that map due to what you wrote.

Not true at all. Only the Halo 4 spawns are like this. In Halo 2 and 3 you could spawn Library or BR1 if they only had 1 at BR3, or bottom glass if they only had 1 at S3. I have never played on Lockout in the previous games and spawned at lift for near the entire game.

Quick question:
OP how do you know the spawns if you haven’t played the previous Halo’s?

I was referring to this comment you made in the first post,

I have always found it that map that way, if your team works fast taking out the opposition you can lock that map down quick smart,

Maybe you never found that but I have.

Oh I don’t know, maybe from playing Halo 2 and Halo 3.

I played on Lockout way more in Halo 2 than Blackout on Halo 3 simply because they destroyed some key factors to the map in Halo 3. I was really glad that whoever forged it did such an excellent job bringing back all the jumps and the overall structure. Being able to see from S1 to BR1 again as well as all the doorway jumps being back at Sniper were great.

What brings you to think I never played any of the past games?

The only other map that you can spawn trap this fast on is Simplex, but you actually have to win every single opener without losing a man. You can’t spawn camp this easily in Haven, Adrift, Solace, and Dispatch. All of which are the competitive maps. So Shutout being as easy to control as it is needs a spawn rework.

I misread the last post where the sentence said “I have never played Lockout in the previous games” and then I didn’t scroll down enough to see the rest.

Either way Shutout does not belong in the rotation and neither should any remake unless it’s one of the larger maps like sand trap, sand box, or colossus.
I’m pretty sure that they aren’t going to appear because Halo 4 has enough big overplayed maps as it is.

We’ll have to agree to disagree, I always found Lockout to be just like its’ name, a good team can control that map so easily, in all it’s variations.

You’re not wrong but as easy as it were in previous Lockout’s, your team needed at least one person to move between certain areas to force a spawn after awhile.
In Halo 4 you just need to stand still in certain positions and you get perfect spawn traps without even earning them.

I can’t disagree with you and I see what the OPs getting at, but I doubt it would make much difference, I personally would have left that map alone, I can think of others that would have been better, but that’s me.

Yeah I just avoid it now unless I get Shutout Shutout then Deluxe.
I will never play deluxe unless it becomes a legit competitive gametype.

I avoid it too, I never vote for it, hardly ever did as I recall.

It’s not like you are spawning with an AR.

I’ve never run into this problem myself.
