Fix Forge and Custom Games.

I don’t know how many people actually care about Custom Games OR Forge, but for the ones that do, what would you like to see in either of these two modes? I ask because before Reach was released, I had already taken a liking to Forge and the ability to make fun Custom Games to enjoy with my friends. I saw all of the new features Bungie was adding and couldn’t wait to start my first map. Sadly, I no longer have a reason to make new maps or gametypes simply because of the lack of features found in Forge and Custom Games. Does anybody else feel the same way or have any ideas on how to improve these?

These are a few things I would of liked to see in Forge and Custom Games:

Forge-

Precision Placement. Why was this taken out?

More Lights. I don’t understand why we can have only two…

More Scenery. We’re too limited when it comes to decorating our maps. I don’t like it… I’d also like to be able to use more rocks in my maps, some people would ask why, well for one, it adds more variety, two, I enjoy making maps with rocks, and three, I’m not a fan of anything else on the Forge Pallet… For what it’s worth, adding more natural objects would be nice too (plants, trees, etc.).

New Pallet. Here’s a big one… Why are 90% of the pieces available taken from Reach? …As if I didn’t already spend hours playing with the same ones during matchmaking and Forge on Forge World.

I’ll be honest though, it’s not so much how the pieces are shaped, but how they look. On Sandbox in Halo 3, if I had to place one of the rock walls in another one to make one long wall, there weren’t silly little designs making my walls look funny. Give us some simply designed objects to work with (new ones).

Differen’t FX. I don’t use these much, but if I do, it’s usually Juicy. I don’t like making my map look wierd, I just like to change the time of day sort of speak.

Checkpoints. Or Activate-able Spawns. I’d find a device where players could hit a switch opening a new spawn for teammates to be very useful in some of my custom Gametypes.

Custom Games-

Honesty time again. A lot of people were saying a few settings were removed from the Gametype Options. While I did notice it seemed a little limited when creating the only gametype I’ve made so far, what else is missing besides not being able to remove Sprint? I am aware that things ARE indeed missing, but I won’t actually notice unil the time comes when I’m looking for one and I can’t find it… On the bright side, I have a few ideas I’d like to see added to the Gametype Options list:

Weight. Example: In Halo 3 (where my most enjoyable Gametypes are found) I made a Gametype where a track was laid down floating above Sandbox and players found themselves running from one end to the other. Or in other words, their goal was to get to the finish. While doing this, zombies piloting Banshees were looking to push or splatter them off the track. While making these maps, I always thought about how cool it would be to put a Custom Power-up down that would allow players to gain or lose weight. This way, if someone became heavier, it would make it harder for Banshees to push them off the edge in my gameype.

Vehicle Spawns. I’m not sure if this is in the game already, so correct me if I’m wrong… We need to be able to spawn in Vehicles.

No Weapon Option. I could see myself making a Gametype where you have to look for a weapon to ensure your survival. It reminds me of the new Battlefield 3 DLC Aftermath.

The Custome Game ideas are a little short, mainly because I don’t enjoy Forging as much as I used to, but when I get around to looking through the options to all of the gametypes, I’ll be sure to add them to this list. Same with Forge… Of course if this thread is dead by then, well… yeah.

What would you like to see added to Forge or Custome Games?
