Fix for Quitters when losing! The Punishment Poll

I made this poll because People quitting out of games when they are losing is driving me insane! Especially when people do it in the smaller game modes like breakout or swat. All you are doing is screwing over your teammates. Stop being so afraid of going down in rank! Just man up and finish the game! I wish they would do something about this because this practice has become way to prevalent! I believe people that quit out of games when their team is losing should get a loss on their record to stop this ridiculous behavior. I wish I didn’t have to say that but this problem is becoming the norm! What do you think?? Answer poll above!

There already is punishment. Rank loss and bans after repeat quits

I say it counts as a loss and you have a short ban. If we had social playlist with join in progress quitting wouldn’t matter at all.

I’m apparently the only person that doesn’t mind losing as long as I’m having fun

I appreciate this answer but this punishment in actuality is not working! Whether it is not being implemented correctly or enough I am not sure, but have you seen the mass exodus of people quitting out of games when their team is losing lately?! Take a look at your Big Team Battle scorecard the next time you play and I bet you half or more of the losing team will be missing by the end!

Quitters should get a loss plus another added as penalty. Along with time bans that increase as they quit more. After a bunch of quits an orange cone should be on their head… I also think the quitters should eventually be placed in a different matchmaking that matches them up with others who are likely to quit.

I would feel bad for all those people joining losing games at the last minute of the game though.

“Ban”

LOL

They are back in a new game faster than their teamates can lose the game they abandoned them in.

Public shaming? Lol that would encourage it more. People love to get recognized for being naughty

I think if you quit it should add 25 deaths to your KDA! This is what happens when my team mates all quit after a few minutes and I finish the game and die 25 times.

Solid idea! Many games have been won from deficit, quitters need harsher punishments!

Or the other solution is to have an automatic forfeit where the game recognizes that it is 4v1 or 4v2 and automatically puts everyone out of their misery. (and gives the remaining people wins would be a good touch)

Agree

At the very least… Shouldn’t be able to start a new search until the game you quit has finished.

This idea consists of too much effort to be taken seriously lol. It’s really simple…

Daily System - Resets at where ever 343 is located at midnight

1st Quit - 10 minute ban
2nd Quit- 30 minute ban
3rd Quit - Come back and play tomorrow

If you even try to argue that you disconnect so this shouldn’t be implemented I’m going to respond by saying Really, you’re going to blame ruining 3+ games a day on your internet. If you are disconnecting from 3 games daily you are ruining the game for 9 other people a day. Fix your internet. You shouldn’t be dropping from more than 2 games a day and even if it is accidental you’re still diminishing the game for others. You see people with 6-8 DNF’s a day. SMH that 8 minute ban is really going to stop them.

Should be much longer than that. This just punishes the people that didn’t quit. They lose rank and KDA all while the quitters don’t and can get back in a game as fast as the team they abandoned.

A little of all the above.

Should be be on your record. Kills per game should be averaged with your k/d ratio for your main personal team stat. This will reduce the advantage of quitting to save your k/d ratio.

Make social playlists. Be super harsh on ranked playlist. If your connection sucks, you cannot play ranked. Sorry. That’s more fair than ruining multiple games for multiple people…and you arent having fun with being disconnected anyway.

Social playlist allow people to jump in and out. They’re always available if you get banned. Bans should be very harsh.

Well I was kinda kidding about the orange cone… well not really… but I would love players to me matched up based somewhat on quits. Then all the players who clearly don’t mind quitting can play with other quitters.

I mean, a possible option could be to list your DNF number on your service record under your KDA or stats. Imagine the shame a guy could get if this game develops a larger social network.(Searching system for custom games, spartan company tournaments, etc.)

Guys…there are already ban/penalty systems in place. If that is not enough, then it is time to look at the game not the players. If the quitting is still a major issue after the game has been significantly improved, like by adding professional-grade, quality maps & traditional fan-favorite Halo playlists, then discussions about more strict player bans may very well be justified/reasonable. Until then, all you are asking in penalizing players more severely is for this game’s population to plummet faster/harder than Halo 4.

STOP requesting harsher penalties on players when the real reason they are quitting so often is that the -Yoinking!- game is not offering enough to each player on avg!!! Jesus Christ! You are literally asking 343 to kill this game when you beg for bigger/badder quit penalties. 343 is the problem! Demand that they add quality content and improve in-game variety so players can play what they want to play, and maybe…just maybe…the quitting will slow down.

Do this with a game as shallow in terms of content and variety as Halo 5 is right now and you can go ahead and sell off your own copy too, because all this would do is kill the game’s population (whatever’s still left of it).
