Fix for halo infinite stuttering issues (PC)!

I finally discovered how to fix all the micro stutter! The problem has to do with inconsistent frame rates and variable refresh rate. To fix it you need to disable VRR, and use vsync. Personally I turned min max fps and vsync off in-game and instead used nvidia geforce panel to override everything:

  • 120hz refresh - Vsync adaptive (half) - this makes fps locked at 60 - Monitor Technology: Fixed Refresh RateThis may or may not work with normal vsync at 120hz assuming you don’t drop any frames. Based on other people complaining about frame rates, I doubt this is possible for the majority of people in the games current state (I’m using a rtx 3070 and this is not possible at 1440p).
This obviously isn’t an acceptable long term fix as vsync introduces input lag and 60 fps isn’t the best for a competitive fps but this makes the game much more bearable as you don’t have to deal with the screen stuttering the entire time.

Edit: Did some more testing and the same works if you set your display refresh rate to other values. At 90hz, I’m able to play on a combo of mostly high / ultra without dropping frames with vsync set to on in nvidia settings.
