Did anyone else just get annoyed by the emblem system in halo 5? I know it’s not too big of a deal, but they could have done it so much better.
In Halo Infinite could we at least change foreground and background as well as colors like we could in the past. Additionally we should be able to have access to 90% of the emblems at level 1. I could understand if we could unlock some special emblems through challenges, but at least allow us to have more control on what are emblem is like. What do you guys think?

This and the option to have the emblem back on my Spartan again would be very nice
As long as I get emblems on my armour then I’ll be fine with it.
Emblems were a little confused in Halo 5. Unlocking them through REQ packs was the biggest problem. It is such a minor adjustment, but it bloated the REQs and made them relatively useless as a reward. As you suggest, foregrounds and backgrounds are necessary things in this respect. If a player enjoys the “emblem” part of the emblem but not its background, it makes it a much more difficult decision whether to equip it or not. There are quite a few really enjoyable foregrounds in Halo 5, and I do love the raw amount of choices, but they are frustrating because as opposed to being able to choose, say, a legendary foreground and a more basic background, mix and match what things you like and dislike, it doesn’t give that option at all - making it more limiting than previous games even with more options.
I don’t mind unlocking most emblems from challenges, seasons, or other content (whether it be owning or completing certain things). It does make emblems feel more exclusive in a way that makes the game that much more interesting in my opinion. Animated emblems would be a great way of doing this: giving an animated emblem for beating the game on Legendary, being in the top 100 players in a season, things like that. I would say most emblems should be achievable with a decent amount of interest in playing. Things shouldn’t take 1,000,000 kills in Warzone or something extreme like that. If a person plays for an hour or two a day for a year, they should have around 90% of the emblems in my view. Reward consistent play as well as skilled play.

This. They should at least make it an option for those who want it (I know that some people prefer their Spartan clean).
Preach brother, I HATED the emblem system in Halo 5. Why did the emblem system devolve instead of expand and improve? Bring back full customization.
