fix dlc

They need to make a filter that allows players to search by map pack. This is something I have been asking for since Halo 3 but is a much bigger problem in Halo Reach.

The facts:
-I pretty much only play BTB.
-I have played literally thousands of games in the time frame I am referring to.
-There are three DLC maps in BTB: Highlands, Breakpoint and Tempest.

  • I downloaded the map packs the day they came out and have not removed them.

The numbers:
Since April I have played Highlands zero times outside the DLC playlists.
Since April I have played Breakpoint 1 time outside the DLC playlists.
Since April I have played Tempest zero times outside the DLC playlists.

I have not played the other ones outside of the DLC playlists either but I almost never venture out of BTB so that is excusable.

What a filter would do:
-Allow me and others that have paid for the use of a service (the maps) to use that service.
-Increase the sales of the map packs - more people are going to be interested in actually paying for map packs if they feel that they can actually USE them.

The current un-availability is changing gamers minds about purchasing DLC and will defiantly result in a loss of future projected sales. From a business standpoint it would be irresponsible not to incorporate a map pack filter.

Maybe this is just me. Do thoes of you out there that have the maps actualy get to play on them at all?

The only time I’ve managed to get matches on the Defiant or Noble maps were in the Noble/Defiant/Premium Playlists.

I made it my business to inform all my friends that buying DLC was a waste of time as so few people have the DLC that you won’t see the DLC maps outside of the DLC only playlists.

“If Reach wasn’t such a bad game I would have bought the DLC” is what most people respond with and in hindsight I wish I could get my money back.

I think the DLC is overpriced for what you get plus Reach’s gameplay leaves alot to be desired.

That.

Right now, 343 can do nothing and not cater to the DLC owners; restrict Matchmaking and screw over the majority of the population; or add a search filter and cater to both groups.

That last option sounds best. Makes both sides happy.

Yes. and hopefully 343 won’t ignore this request, as it would probobly create more buisness. and everyone would have more fun. I wanna play invasion on breakpoint man! PLEASE 343 look at this thread and add a search filter or something. PLEASE. Love the game, just need to be able to play noble without defiant and vice versa

no. seriously. lets do this. this is something 343 can do. please. do it. there is no reason not to.

They need to do something I feel like I got ripped. I’ve bought every DLC from H2-Reach, but I don’t think I will buy anymore unless they can filter in more games with the maps.

just keep posting to keep this up top, then people will see

I personally thank-you for making this thread and bringing to light the DISGRACE that people are being put through who actually pay for maps and get screwed over by these ridiculous companies. I paid 800 Microsoft points twice. I SHOULD be allowed to choose when i want to play on them.

And who came up with some ridiculous algorithm which supposedly is ‘supposed’ to match you up with other people that have the maps. Maybe if this was made into an option, we wouldn’t have these ridiculous issues.

Games such as the Rainbow Six series have had this option on even some of the old titles from 10 years ago. Get with the times and stop DISGRACING the players who are throwing even more money at you bigots.

And after the most recent playlist changes we have a grand total of 1 DLC Playlist.

I will never buy DLC for another Halo game which may not be a problem as depending on how bad Halo 4 is I might not get it.
