Fix Deadlock or Remove It

Deadlock is garbage and it needs the Orion treatment. The spawns are absolutely terrible (most spawns in this game are but this map seems to take the cake). Standoff was a great map but it did not translate well to Halo 5. Just get rid of this map or at least fix the spawns. At no point in time should the enemy be spawning directly behind me.

Yeah, Deadlock is the only map in the game I can safely say is utter trash. Not anywhere near enough cover, with awful spawns. Hate that map.

Can someone elaborate which one is deadlock?

Yea this map is so broken. I normally end up spawning in the middle of the map and get killed almost instantly. I never end up having this problem with any other BTB map and can safely say I hate Deadlock.

Yeah… There is something wrong with the spawning system. I’m hoping they are going to fix that. But we can’t just say that the map is garbage right off the bat.

Yeah I think the spawn system needs to be tweaked on that map and I think more cover needs to be added to the tops of the bases.

I spawned on the enemy side on this map. Some of the initial spawns are messed up too.

Depends on what mode it is. If its Strongolds or Slayer, its mean to be like that. If its CTF, then uhm yeah… LOL

The spawns in general are terrible

I just don’t like it. The scaling doesn’t make it seem like the same map and the bases are too bland. Plus we are lacking the awesome backdrop that standoff had with the huge antennas in the background. I just feel like Halo 5 maps do a poor job of immersing us in the setting (except Fathom).

The spawns are a little janky, but you can sometimes counter this by controlling the map strategically. Hard to do if you don’t have a communicating team though. I’ll agree though it is probably one of the most frustrating maps in the game thus far.

The grassy map with two hills/bases facing each other.

This map is made to piss you off. You have to go to the opposite base to find players, then return to your base, then return to the other base and so on and so forth

Part of the issues with this map are the changes in Halo 5 game-play. With the BR now being highly accurate at long ranges and having faster kill times it makes any map that is even the slightest bit open a death trap. In previous Halos maps could be more open and spawns weren’t as unforgiving because the only weapons that could consistently target you at long range were power weapons. Now everyone spawns with a mini sniper rifle, so if you are spotted more than 5 feet away from cover, you’re dead. That makes a more open map like Deadlock near unplayable.
