A while back 343 did a smart thing by making the emblems not part of the 2 perm. unlocks in gold and silver packs. Now I wish they’d do that for weapon and vehicle certifications. The last several gold packs have been just certifications, no armor or anything else. At the very least limit the certs to just one per pack.
Incidentally, this is how I feel about loadouts. Each combination of scope+attachment should not be its own req card. Instead, we should unlock them individually. Or even better: they should all be available from the start, because I hate the idea of things affecting gameplay being tied to rank.
Anyway yes certifications are kind of annoying, since it just goes back to square one when you get them all. What’s the point of that? And you’re making a more general point about the gold/silver pack grind being tedious, which I totally agree with. The loadouts thing I just mentioned, the certifications, and most of the armor being ugly and so many visors looking the same, all really take a lot of the fun out of unlocking permanent reqs. If the req system comes back in Halo 6 (I wish it doesn’t), then I hope 343 at least fixes those issues with it.
Taking emblems out of the two permanent unlocks was an excellent decision, and 343 should get props for that, at least.

Which I agree. I’ve been playing since day 1 and still haven’t collected all the armors…granted there was a long period where I stopped playing. Why 343 had to change it from the way Reach had it where you could see the armor first and buy what you wanted I don’t know.
I really wish they had 2 different types of REQ packs. Cosmetic and warzone. Cosmetic would be armors, stances, assassinations, etc… while warzone would be certifications, weapons, boosts, etc.
As far as going back to my original topic. Other than making them not part of the perm. unlock, instead put them in the daily log in or daily arena/warzone win packs.
