Bloom is a big part of reach but is terrible at trying to do it’s job. Spammers are rewarded by getting lucky head shots and having a better connection. Remove bloom and accurate people wil always beet spammers and connection will make less of a difference.
Posted this in another thread as well.
Ok I’m going to explain this in the most simple way possible.
Why bloom is necessary.
People think that bloom causes people to spam and win battles via “luck”. These percentages are not accurate, but luck to me is only about 40% the cause. Bloom is intended to slow down shots the further you are away, since a lot of Reach’s maps are close combat maps, your going to squeeze the trigger faster. On long range maps, “you have to slow down your shots”. So instead of blaming “luck”, blame the maps, most of all the maps are short to mid range. It’s not luck spamming that’s bothering you, it’s range.
I personally think there is nothing wrong with the bloom percentage, I think it’s sightlines/map ranges that give the DMR a bad name.
Bloom is nessacary to keep people from infinitely doming you from 4 billion yards away, it doesn’t help much in tight situations. 85% improves the bloom but no bloom is insane.

Did you even read the OP? He’s not saying that bloom should be removed, nor is he arguing that it’s not necessary.
What he’s saying is that spammers should be punished more heavily.
The problem with bloom is that the bullet can land anywhere within the reticle. This allows players to spam it at full bloom and, on average, land a headshot before the reticle can reset.
If there is ever to be a bloom mechanic, the bullet should only be allowed to land along the outermost ring of the reticle.
This is basically the same as your recent thread:

Making threads that are already being discussed is against the rules.
