"Fishstick" hands-on at Pax?

As a fan of many different shooters I’ve become very comfortable with the “left trigger zoom” button layout and now it feels more natural to me than anything else. I want to know if anyone who has played Halo 4 at Pax has used the new “Fishstick” control scheme?

Since I’m a normal nature gamer I play all types of shooters. Call of Duty, Battlefield, Crysis and Killzone to name a few… Although not Halo, all awesome games in their own right. The thing is, all those titles use one control scheme. Now with the introduction of “Fishstick” I have one unified mode of movement/button layout over all my favorite titles. You can imagine why I’m very pleased.

I want to know how it plays? How it feels to zoom? Is the left trigger pressure sensitive like CoD? Or is it more a “pull once to zoom”, “pull again to unzoom”? How does the sniper work with multiple zooms? How does it feel compared to other games? All the need to know information you would remember would be highly appreciated. I figure the forums are a good place to look. thanks, dejay218.

I play all those shooters too, but for me I can easily transition between those control schemes and Bumper Jumper. I played BF3 and MW3 for about a month straight without touching halo and I easily game back to Halo with no problems. But thats just me.

I don’t think it’ll ever feel the same as ADS shooters. There are indeed a lot of zoom weapons but it’s just a different style. I personally like all kinds of shooters like you but I prefer each games control scheme as they are designed to play.

I also find it humerous that fishsticks is a reference to CoD. Cause Cod is an abbreviation for Call of Duty?.. I hope I’m not the only one that caught that when I saw it xD

I would also also like to know how it feels. I always felt LT zoom worked well in FPS that has ADS. But since Halo 4 doesn’t have this feature, does this make LT zoom awkward?
Also, can you change stick layouts? I remember in cod you could switch the melee to B and crouch to RS. Anything similar for H4?

I’ve been switching back and forth since MW2, I’m done being nostalgic. Yeah, it might feel awkward at first but I’m willing to give it my 110%. I like the feedback, keep it coming but my mind’s made up folks. I just want to know how it feels in Halo. It might feel like crap and I might not use it at all, but I’d have to suck pretty bad.

What are you? A gay fish? Haha, you know that’s going to be a running joke. I guess I’m a gay fish then… You got me!

Just to be clear, it forced me to use “happy”… I guess it’s more p.c. Idk…
