It doesn’t bother me. I wont be using it but there are people who probably will. In my opinion, the more choice you get for button loadouts the better. I’ve always used default but I know that people like to choose. I’ve only played a few matches in COD as it’s never been my thing but I think it’s good that halo are adding a COD-style loadout because it will attract gamers from other franchises. Nice choice 343! 
They need to get rid of all control schemes and make it fully customizable.

I wouldn’t say they NEEDED to, but it would be a good idea.

Unfortunately, for some reason it’s very unpopular on the consoles.
Where’s the problem? It’s only the standard setup in…every other game with guns.

A joke on the term COD. I applaud them for the name! 
whatever works for people. if they’re trying to reel in some of the cod audience then you probably want to do as much as you can to make them feel more comfortable, so if that means making left trigger zoom and B crouch and right stick melee then that’s ok, it’s not the default scheme anyway.

Good - I’ve always hated grenades and having to use them - A control scheme that puts other movement and abilities as priority over spamming grenades is a plus in my book (I’ve been using Bumper Jumper ever since Halo 3).
But I still would like to make a custom layout that would be perfect for me - Something like this:
Left Bumper: Jump
Right Bumper: Melee
Left Trigger: Armour Ability
Right Trigger: Fire
Left Stick click: Crouch
Right Stick click: Zoom
A button: Sprint
B button: Reload
X button: Weapon Swap
Y button: Throw grenade
Dpad down: Swap equipment (Between plasma/frag grenades, etc)
Gosh someone needs to redesign the controller.

I like the pun in the name and how it will appeal to more players. It surprises me though - for weapons with multiple zoom levels, does that mean you have to pull the trigger twice to get the zoom you want? So it’s not CoD-style “hold trigger to zoom” then, but tap trigger to zoom?
My own custom control scheme would go something like this:
Left Thumbstick - Move (click to crouch)
Right Thumbstick - Aim (click to zoom)
A - Jump
B - Melee
X - Reload/ Action
Y - Switch Weapons
LB - Sprint
RB - Throw Grenade
RT - Fire
LT - Armor Ability
D-Pad - Switch Grenade Type

Meh. I likely won’t be using it so it doesn’t bother me. But the name gets +100 cookies.
zOMG you push buttons in this game just like CoD? What a ripoff! BOYCOTT! ARGH the left trigger was the sole thing keeping Halo from being terrible.
