I’m starting a forge channel called ForgeForthright. To test my editing skills I made a video showcasing some of the best maps to forge on Halo: MCC. The channel will mostly be focused on forge tutorials. Btw, later videos will have commentary.
So what do you think? Is there anything I should change?
I liked the use of the Delta Halo theme, and your opening was nice.
The transition between map images was smooth, but I can’t say I particularly liked the way the text was moved onto the screen. I’ll be brutally honest and say it felt “amateur-ish”. Not that I know a better way, as video editing isn’t my thing, but something about it felt off.
Probably could have done without the Lens Flare, but that’s mostly my opinion.
I definitely think the video would have been better with commentary, possibly a brief description of the maps and why you think they’re good for forging, but I can appreciate a brief and simple showcase as well. No real fault there.
I will say that perhaps doing a “top three” would have been better, because you did essentially list every map that was ever really forgeable so it sort of defies the point of “the best maps.”
Overall, decent video. Work on the text transitions (the image transitions were fine) and you should be good.
(Note, I have little idea what I’m talking about in terms of this sort of thing, feel free to disagree with me.)
At first it was very professional, but after a while the animation for the text at the side got boring and repetitive. Being me, it also got annoying. The end credits should be a single “slide” and not a scroll. If you have a good mic, it would of had been cool if you told us why these maps are good.
Otherwise this was a good entertaining video.
