First time I've been given the option to boot

Today I was playing breakout and we got destroyed for the first 4 rounds because of a really poor team. We managed to clutch the next few rounds but as we finally started winning rounds one teammate was killing other players , which really made things hard. Only once he killed 3 people (including me) was I given the chance to boot him, and that that point he had already sabotaged our chances of winning.
What im trying to say is why does it take so long to boot? He had killed at least 3 people without even getting a glimpse of the enemy so it should be obvious that it was deliberate and he was probably just trying to end the match faster.

the whole situation could have been avoided however if a level 8 player with one placement match wasn’t put into a match with gold and platinum players. Ridiculous.

I guess depending on if you were also shot by the enemy team, then you can say it was “accidental friendly fire” Even if he shots you, knocking down your shields, as long the other team pulls a shot on you as well it be missed. Just my theory, every time someone kills me just as I spawn I always get the chance to boot him, later get a msg from the guy asking why.

ive never seen it…

Generally takes 3 to boot for me.

It’s the general 3 chance rule. You get 3 chances then you’re out. 2 Betrayals can be considered a mistake, but 3 can be considered just team killing.

Yeh it just sucks for breakout where every death is such a huge factor

Happened to me today in warzone got splattered by a teammate and.was given the prompt to boot him. Didnt do it though it was a genuine accident I believe.
