I dont usually quit many games and play usually approx 8 hrs a day and have never been banned? That said i got banned 3-4 days ago and it was solely because 2-3 games in a given hour just ended? sat on black screen with friends for about 2-3 mins and it automatically went to game select screen? after the last one it said i was banned which was only for 10 mins but now every day since it tells me if i quit i will be banned again? I’m afraid that it will be some uncontrolled issue like server problems or my modem acting up or power issues and i will get banned for alot longer this time?
how long is the first offense stay in effect and is there anything i can do? I feel i shouldnt be getting the message every day since it was the very first time ever getting banned? and it wasnt because i quit the game it was server issues that ended the game i got banned from?
You will get banned if enough of the following happen in a relatively short space of time (in a timescale of days):
[/li]- you quit games;
you get booted;
you lag out / unplug your network connection.
I’ve been banned a few times (BTB, ftf) and gotten that message. Your safest option is to either wait a couple of days or else play a game Firefight, Grifball, Campaign, or Customs where you cannot get booted. Or just play a different game. The ban will go away within a few days so long as none of the above happen.
If you have a sucky network connection, tough luck. There’s no good way to determine whether you unplugged your connection or lagged out so both are treated equally. Xbox Live requires that you can a fairly decent connection to avoid lagging out.
It’s just a quit ban. If you quit too many times, you’ll get banned for ten minutes. The message saying not to quit anymore will keep showing up for a few days. It’ll go away eventually.
If you’re going to black screen and then it’s saying you quit, there’s probably some problem with your connection. I don’t know enough about it to be able to help you, though.
You’re on quit probation. It will end after a while, but until it does, every quit will keep you out of Matchmaking for ten minutes. There is no way to check how long you have until probation ends, and if you quit too many times, it gets longer.
