It faced a lot of competition last year…a lot.
Fallout 4 and battlefront were devastating competition. Rainbow six did pretty well and Not to mention COD which, for some reason, is still very popular.

Why laugh at that, they have released games like Spartan Strike and Assault on Windows, what makes you think another Halo game won’t ? Halo 2 was on PC.

To be fair, Halo 5 had the craziest marketing of all the Halos (hunt the truth). Further, it did make decent sales considering the competition, however it was terrible at retaining the population.
There was a reason why Halo 4 sold so well, it was overhyped and nobody knew otherwise until it was to late, with Halo 5 we had clues as to what the end product was going to be like.
Plus Halo 5 went up against some pretty formidable competition, the fact that it is still being played is a testament to the franchise.

I agree, it is no longer a console seller. The Xbox one is only limiting Halo due to its weak hardware.
Come on guys, read the OP, it’s 2012 list, Halo 5 sold 3.37 million according to VG Chats, that’s more than Destiny managed the whole year on multi plat.

IMO, sales are not the problem, it’s player retention. Selling the game is the easier part, keeping the players interested in playing the game over the “other” popular games is the harder part. At launch, 18 of my friends, which are all halo fans, we’re playing halo 5. Now, they are online more than ever, but not playing halo. It’s either battlefield, COD, or Destiny. Even though halo 5 has far superior gameplay, the content and variety just is not there to keep the whole player base interested, while other games simply offer more. I’m not hating the game, I play it daily and I LOVE it, but I see its issues, and I know this game has amazing potential, it just needs to be used in these updates.

I don’t doubt that but player retention is not why I replied, it seems everyone is jumping in without looking at the OP, all I did is point out he linked the 2012 list, not 2015.

MS most likely won’t, buy ey were getting project contingency and halo online plus we still have ce custom edition. Now we just need either halo reach or 4 so we can have the reach engine on PC
