As we all know, this medal means nothing any any player post-game. It’s nice to hear in-game but no one cares for it to be displayed and taking up slots for more important medals. I have recently been pondering this and other vexing issues in this travesty of a game, with focus on the idea that the problem is not with Reach, but my understanding of it. Perhaps there is a terrific idea behind this that we have not grasped, which made it imperative that it remain after countless thousands of games had been played in Bungie’s playtesting over years of development.
Someone explain the hidden genius behind the medal’s placement. We can get to the bottom of this.
It’s one of the ‘Jack of All Trades’ commendations.
As for the countless hours played , Bungie screwed up by listening to to much community feed back. Most of which we’re from another FPS shooter that alot of Halo fans hate.
Perhaps Bungie expected players to burst with the same joy some people have at making first post? Making people happy in a game is something that is important, arguably more important than paying attention to intricacies and mechanics. Perhaps that is the route they were going for in making the game? Another example is bloom. It can be delightful when your shot lands, just as winning the lottery is. Maybe FPS fans are just not the target audience for Reach, whereas fsvfsv f erg 4 56 64356 34 jhkjdssds

excuse me, my Reach keyboard decided my typing was too fast and accurate. Anyway, maybe they were trying to get the lucrative and abundant FIRST and gambler audiences and thus make the game transcend genres?
Well the medal only occurs once a game (unless there are multiple rounds), which makes it rare in that case. But it does happen every game which then makes it not so rare at all. I’ve had exterminations and perfections and they don’t make top medals. I think those should at least overwrite any other medal if they happen since they are one of the most uncommon.
It IS so annoying. In grifball I hear it all the time, Infection, btb… It wouldn’t be so bad if there was no voice telling us because frankly I don’t care if I get it, or if I get a killionaire. On top of that are the notifications for getting aheadshot, or beat down, or spree. I only want to see who killed who like it was in combat evolved. Keep the screen spam free, it just distracts everyone.
First strike is for that lame achievment - it is an achievement right? I can’t remember, all i know is I needed it for the security armor.
I agree, I’ve had awesome multi kills that were never displayed in the top medals, because of the first strike medal taking up one of the three slots. Kind of disappointing.
I go for First strikes and have collected a fair amount, 1527 to be precise. A little over 20% of the games I play in I getting the first kill =D .2247 per game, who’s got better?

I can’t . This is something that still kinda bugs me. Just the other day a friend of mine got an extermination but it did not show up post game but guess what did…
