I have always done my first playthroughs of Halo games solo on Heroic. However after reading the recent reviews of the game it appears that the games perfect pacing and battles shine through best on Normal. So which should I do it on?
I’d still go for heroic. Personally I’ll be playing it on Legendary with the exception of any possible achievement hunting I’ll have to do.
Normal so you can actually enjoy the game. That’s what I’m doing.
I’ll be playing on heroic, because that’s how halo is meant to be played.
I’ll be doing it on normal the first time around. For replayability, to enjoy the story at a good pace, and to get into War Games faster.
Heroic. Normal is too easy.
Plus, it’s the closet difficulty to the book canon and makes you feel like a real hero. Earning those cutscenes while blasting tenacious aliens and evil machine constructs.
Legendary, though I might consider bumping it down to heroic if i’m getting destroyed. Those prometheans actually looked a bit frightening in some of the more recent footage.
Normal, I like to enjoy the story without raging. :)Legendary run soon after.

Nah, Mythic with one hand while intoxicated is incredibly easy. You should try it, having all the skulls on is not that bad. xD
I always play normal. I just don’t feel like the MASTER CHIEF cowering behind a rock waiting for my shield to re-charge, holding a plasma pistol and a whole lot of hope lol. That’s for my second play through.
You only get to enjoy the story line fresh once, do it on normal and take it all in!
Normal, screw being torn limb from limb by Prometheans and their binary rifles…
I think I’ll be playing normal first so I can enjoy the story. Maybe I’ll play Heroic later.
Yeah, the campaign will have 3 playthroughs from me. 1st one on Normal. 343 advised people to play it on Normal first just to get used to the new enemies, since they are different from the Covenant. I believe that even a couple of reviewers said that 343, to their credit, changed things up and beefed up the difficulty all around, and that Heroic and Legendary are a lot harder than you are used to playing.
You simply can’t depend on muscle memory and play this on auto-pilot like the others. The enemies AI is a lot smarter than it used to be, which could be great for some and -Yoink- for others (you controller-breakers know what I mean).

I do want that MK VI helmet early… I may do Legendary first it depends how frisky I’m feelin’ lol.
Always solo legendary. Save the “fun runs” for Co-op
Normal for the first play through, then probably Heroic, depends on the difficulty level.
Normal first to understand the story than when i finish i will start on legendary.
