Do you think the 3rd person should be toggled in your controller layout? Like 1st person ground driving, 1st person flying, 1st person charging, 1st person ground pounding , instead of 3rd

I don’t feel this would be a good addition to Halo. It would be an incredibly difficult learning curve and a large adjustment to a community comprised of people that typically do not enjoy large game changes such as this. Part of Halo’s charm is that driving vehicles is just as easy as walking. Making vehicles first-person would make them ever more difficult to use. I wouldn’t even include a toggle option, because the larger field of view of being in 3rd person is an advantage, and it’s easier, so nobody in their right mind would choose first person perspective.
As for charging and ground pounds, I’m not sure how I feel about those. It is kind of jarring to be taken into/out of 3rd person when charging, but I believe that is part of the ability’s nerf. 3ps when ground pounding makes it much easier to see exactly where your avatar is.

I agree, it’s probably unnecessary for Halo. The amount of people who would actually use it consistently wouldn’t justify the development needed for it to be implemented in-game.
If I’m not mistaken, in Halo: CE when you ride in the passenger compartment of the warthog you stay in first person view. I always thought that was interesting and fun. It might be interesting if a vehicle viewpoint option was included in the settings menu. It probably wouldn’t be very practical, but it might be fun to use in custom games, or in a racing game mode.
