hi just an idea i don’t know if its already been talked about but i thought it would be awesome to have a first person view inside vehicles. I’ve always wanted to drive a warthog from the inside and it doesn’t even have to replace the third person view just have the option to switch views if you want to. there’s more than enough free buttons on the controller while driving a vehicle to have a switch view button. anyway that just something i’d really enjoy any thoughts?
Could be cool. Don’t see why not if it’s just an option and not the default. I imagine driving a banshee in first person would be pretty damn cool.
First person makes it way harder to drive, because you lack the peripheral vision you have when driving in real life. But third person view is better anyway even with peripheral vision.
So therefore all it is is a cheap little gimmick. Personally I don’t think its worth the work of making everything look right from firs person. (you can barely see anything out the windshield in firs person mods, and apparently the low sloped, curved windshield makes it hard to see out of the real movie prop one as well)

Please no. The seamless switch between First Person and 3rd Person is part of what makes Halo what it is. FP would also limit your sight and fundamentally change gameplay. This is what Halo is, why would you want to change it?

I don’t know I have seen this thread before (like every thread on this forum) this is certainly one Battlefield feature that we don’t need.
Only has an option. Third person is better for gameplay.
I don’t have a problem with them including it in the game as long as 3rd person is default. It would definitely be a useless gimmick although, unlike jet pack, it would not be (borderline) game breaking like jet pack i so I don’t agree with that comparison.
But the reality is, it’s probably not worth the amount of time they would have to spend polishing it so that it looks good. I probably would never use it after trying it out because as others said it really is less practical than 3rd person view.
Everyone says “as an option” Which means they will go to first person, say “this looks cool” then switch back to third because it is much easier. So why is it worth 343s time?

Oh by no means am I saying it would be as bad as the jetpack. I’m just saying that people only want it because it would be cool, not because it would add anything to gameplay.
Although it would be a cool gimmick and kinda fun it would definitely not be on my list of features I most want included in Halo 4
Its not neccessary to bring into Halo, I’ve always enjoyed the break from 1st person the vehicles give. I also couldnt see myself stepping into a vehicle if I was forced to play 1st person in one. This is one thing I’d love Halo to stay away from.
i see your points and yes they should focus on more fundamental aspects of the game but i just think if they get around to it it would be a nice option for those that like the idea
okay some people seem to be thinking i mean this as a forced 1st person and if that was the case no i don’t want it. i mean it as an option like in a race game how you switch views, so as default it would be the normal halo 3rd person view. it wouldn’t be changing whats already there just adding the option for those that would like to use it.
