You may have noticed that in the campaign, you can see the edges of the interior of the helmet around the sides of the screen, as well as some unnecessary lines and overlays. Personally, sometimes i think it detracts from the environment and the scenery. I think that the game looks a lot better without this detail blocking parts of the screen.
This isn’t a major thing, but I would definitely rather it was removed. I understand some people may like it however, so I think it’d be nice if 343 gave us the option to toggle it on or off. Sometimes simpler is better.

Could you imagine the Chief talking to his armor technician about this?
“I think things would look a lot better if you removed the parts of my helmet that block parts of my view, can’t you do something to fix this problem I have with my helmet? And could you make it so I don’t have to see my feet when I look down, while you’re at it?”
There are other games that feature the visor edges on the screen. Republic Commando, Metroid Prime. But they have a slider that allows you to change how opaque it is. So you can have it in full, see-through, or gone all together.

All I’m saying is i think it was better without it in previous games.

It’s less of a complaint and more of a slight annoyance. You don’t hear me yelling and whining for 343 to do something about it, I’m simply saying the option to remove it would be nice.

Personally I’ve never heard anyone ask for more screen obstructions in multiplayer, but I have heard people talk about disliking it as I do. I’m not exactly sure what’s so strange about wanting to see the edges of the screen properly.

People like customization, and this would be a very “personal” piece to customize since it is the only part you can see in game. As Hyperion said, most people don’t ask for it to be removed. Now if you said that people didn’t want it in multiplayer, then I would give that to you. Those people are very vocal about anything “ruining” their experience.
But now I shall comment on your point of it “obstructing” the screen. You do realize that it is only in the corners, right? 99% of the game you are looking at the middle of the screen, and not in the very corner, unless your reticle is there for some reason… and if it is I recommend contacting 343. Besides, it affects gameplay in literally no way at all, and if you thing it does then you are very much overreacting. Or are you seriously looking at your corners soo much that it affects you that much?

Even if you’re not staring directly at the corners of the screen, you can still see it. Aswell as all the blue lines that run across the screen.
It annoys me in the same way when I can’t get a PC game to properly run full screen, and it has a big black border around it.
I never said it affected gameplay, or that it affected me ‘that much’. I stated that it was a very minor thing. I don’t see why you have such a problem with me suggesting how to make improvements to the game, no matter how small they may be. It honestly seems like every time someone makes a complaint on these forums about 343’s games, instead of actually addressing any of the complaints or discussing them, the 343 defenders just complain about the fact that they’re complaining. Or they’ll do what you did and imply that the person meant something completely different. Like how you keep going on about how I’m overreacting, when I have literally said over and over again that it was a very MINOR ISSUE.

Playing the throwback playing list I was crouched on a high vantage point trying to snipe. I see some one and I’m like I’ve got this then my knee blocked my line of sight.
I find the helmets in the campaign a bit distracting as well

Exactly, such a minor issue that should not even be an issue. Now should there be an opacity slider for you people? Yes. Should there be an option for these to be put into multiplayer with said slider? Yes, again. But if such small things bother you, I can’t see how you can enjoy any game, even past Halo titles since they all have has some sort of layer pasted over the HUD for added effect.

Previous games had a very small amount, and never showed the physical Helmet itself. Also there you go again with the over-exaggeration. Small things only bother me a small amount, it doesn’t somehow mean i don’t enjoy the entire game. You just love putting words in peoples mouths don’t you. It seems in this post like you’re agreeing with me that people should be able to change it, yet also complaining yet again that I’m talking about it.

Actually Halo 4 had the exact thing you have an issue with, so it is not new to Halo 5. And do I like putting words in peoples mouths? Sometimes, it’s fun to see reactions, but this is not one of those times, I’m just taking what you said how I see it at this point in time. But as you said at the end there, I do agree that there should be a slider that lets you choose the opacity of the physical helmet, so that way it could also be implemented into online play without all the sweaties getting all agro about “distractions” and what-not. But the only reason I appear to be complaining about your complaining is because it is such a horrifyingly small thing that should not even be brought up. Besides, it’s only in the campaign as of now and that thing is so -Yoink!- awful most people don’t play it past their first run, if at all.
I agree that the edges of the helmet that you can see in-game can be a tad distracting/annoying for those of us who do notice them. Do they add immersion into the game? Sure, I could definitely see why it would do that for some people, and why they might find that it looks cool… But I know that it can make the game feel constricting to many people as well, since it does block out a bit of vision.
As you said, is it a major issue? No, of course not, but it really is a matter of preference. It doesn’t “ruin” the experience of anybody, but some people might find their experience just a bit better without their vision blocked out a bit. Personally, I liked how this sort of thing was done in Bungie’s games, where the visor outline was shown with just coloured, translucent lines rather than blocking off the vision. I can’t see how it would hurt to have the option to allow players to change the transparency of the visor outline.

By previous games, I meant Bungies games, I know it was in Halo 4, and I had the same feeling towards it then.
Why exactly should it not be brought up? What arbitrary rules do you have for if a thread should be made or not? And why do you care that i brought it up if you agree with me anyway?

Well that’s your opinion.
I personally love it, it takes inspiration from one of my favorite games of all time, Metroid Prime.
If only 343 took more inspiration from Metroid, I’m looking at you, X-ray Visor.
