First Person Death Cam

Simple idea.

To help immerse the player into the game without harming gameplay, why not add first person deaths? Witness the last moment your spartan will experience while crashing to the ground, a warthog or simply plummeting off a cliff. Rather than switching into third person tracking your body, remain within the helmet, your visor fuzzy (maybe) and your health bar pulsing.

So what do you guys think? Good idea? Bad idea?
I know it’s not necessary, but as a feature what do you think about it?

eh, it really couldn’t hurt. I can’t imagine anyone complaining about it…then again…we are talking about the halo community.

If it foesnt effect game play i would like to be able to toggle it or have it at the least ya. but a switch would be the best for seeing where the enemy may go after you are killed.

It would be great if you could toggle it.

By the way, no health bar. :expressionless:

Sorry, meant shield bar. Essentially the same thing… But either way; lots of red, flashing and death.

That kind of defeats the purpose of dying. If you could still see, you wouldn’t be dead. That’s the point of it going third person. It’s a lot more effective that way too. People would be angry if they thought they got last shot off because they thought they were still alive.

This is true. People would likely think that. Yea, dying is dying so third person makes sense. I’ve just always wanted to see some first person deaths. At very least they’d be really cool for Machinima

I don’t care as long as its a option I kind of use my death screen.

Even though it’s a rip off from BF3, I wouldn’t mind it. Doesn’t negatively impact gameplay.

It is? I’ve never played battlefield 3. So I actually had no idea. Cool…

Nah, I’d rather they keep deaths the way they are.

Yeh, cause I totally want to see another Spartans nuts in my last moments.

It would be rather amusing if the death cam was simply connected to the ragdolls.

BF3 just has a pre determined fall.

That would be awesome, that would make the -Yoink!- and even more effective tool in -Yoink!- off your enemy. I say yes to it.

Agreed.

Haha that would be hilarious, your Spartan reaching out for help and an enemy looks at you and just starts teabaggin till you respawn

It would be pretty cool though like if you got sniped you actually see your character get knocked back and fall to the floor

But yes, it should be toggled.

This could be as simple as pressing the right joystick in to go into 1st person view during a death.

Optional, like FP driving and hopefully assassinations too.

Yes, assassinations need to be able to be turned off. Nothing is more infuriating then trying to backsmack and being forced into an unnecessary five second animation.

Don’t understimate this community.

If people can whine about the color of the new BR’s weapon counter opposed to that of the H3 one, they sure as hell can complain about this idea.

Personally? I wouldn’t care. Must say I do enjoy the complete randomness you can see happening to your dead body from third person quite a lot. And that’s something you will miss in first person view
