I think the whole placement period after a new season is stupid.
Everyone’s trying to place high, and going super sweaty try-hard.

Everyone is starting to figure out that its best to place together (( with a full team ))

For the record, I find it extremely stupid that if you are PLACING, you shouldn’t be playing players who are already ranked.
Everyone else in your matchmaking games should also be PLACING.

I was placing in Arena yesterday and we faced a team of full ranked onyx’s. I don’t think that should be happening

I am just as competitive as the next guy, but its a bit ridiculous lol

Anyone else have thoughts?

Well, the main reason of placements is to find out where you belong after your placements, If you only played against bronze players it wouldn’t be fair. They have to see how well you perform against bronze>onyx players to have an accurate way to place you.

That’s just my opinion on the way they place you after placements ranks, not stating any facts, but sounds reasonable.

I totally understand that. But if I am going to play someone who was previously an Onyx player in Jan season, and is unranked for feb, then that makes sense.

But playing a full team of already RANKED onyx’s, doesn’t seem right when I am still placing.

Yeah you would prefer to see people placing, matching against people that are placing. Might have something to do with the population online etc.

I looked at all of your placement game history, I only saw one person who was ranked Onyx. Not sure if I missed it, but the majority of your matches were against unranked opponents. I don’t see what the issue is playing people ranked, during your placement games. The placement process is determining where you should be ranked. So if you win against golds, then it will place you against diamonds. If you win again, multiple times, it will place you against Onyx. If you lose, it will do the same concept.

I would prefer it better if #1 the seasons were longer. And #2 they put everybody at the bottom and let everybody work their way up. Although, not sure if that would really matter overall.
