I was unsure what to expect when I first started playing. Everyone is so quick to bash 343, when I started hating Halo during Halo Reach days (Bungie).
While I am very thankful for the MCC, I also want the new Halo to be just as fun and am willing to some change.
I played only 1 game last week, AR starts are not my favorite. However, I have been playing H5 a lot this week with BR starts, I can tell you I love this game. It is different. For a while it did feel similar to call of duty (not sure why exactly).
Since I am nostalgic, I ghandi hop. This makes the game think you want to ground pound (annoying and frustrating).
The hovering in air when scoped is interesting, however I decided to turn it off.
I think some weapons need to be turned down. Not necessarily in power but in distance. AR can shoot so far compared to other titles with similar weapons.
Sprint, I could go either way in this game because it is more balanced. I think I would prefer to move faster but this is alright I think since shield has a delay. If he thrusters away and sprints, communication is key to continue to eliminate him.
Spartan chatter is fine. I wish people would just talk but it does not take away from the gameplay.
I enjoy thruster in this game. Everyone can use it and it can help you get to one place or another faster or escape your death.
While it seems to be focusing primarily on competitive (which I like!) gameplay, I think this game has a ton of potential to be a huge e-sport title!
I think 343 is making a great title here.
A few changes:
- Blue team has an advantage. There is not as much reflection and most maps are dark so it makes it harder to see. - A few automatic weapons, lower their range (power is okay, I think).- Change scopes back to classic scopes- Let players turn off certain abilities if they want- Let players turn off assassinations- Remove announcer announcing weapons (Though I can live with this, it is different style of play with it)
I like what 343 is doing here. I know we all are not going to agree but I like what I am seeing…
