Given what we know from Hunt The Truth, do you think this could potentially bring in the first of Halo gameplay to be fighting enemies of human origin? In precious Halo games, we have only had to open fire on extraterrestrial enemies. Only if we betray enough Marines did we become enemies with humans. Even as we played as the Arbiter, we still fought against a faction of Covenant. We never really had to open fire on an enemy faction of humans. Could this be the first? Could this be what causes this game to be the darkest of the games?
I wouldn’t be surprised, at the least insurrectionists are going to play a role in Halo 5. I kind of figured FERO was part of the insurrection, but her last comment “You’re under our protection now…” kind of confirms that she’s an important figure in the New Colonial Alliance rebellion.
I’m going to kill everyone. Everything. Everywhere. I will be the demon.
Hail. Satan.
With the way the story is unfolding, I’m honestly expecting it. It seems that’s where it’s headed.
You fight humans in Sacred Icon in Halo 2. On the Halo Wiki it says there are 3 missions in the whole series where you fight human enemies but Sacred Icon is the only one I can think of.

Not really. They’re in the mission on the comms and you confront Miranda Keyes and Johnson in a cutscene, but you never really have direct contact with humans in game.

There is a part in one of those missions where you can fight hostile humans as the Arbiter for a little bit. A scorpion tank rolls out and kills me everytime xD They are also fighting Flood so that might be why you missed them.

Actually, the scorpion tank you are saying was under the control of the flood, as were all the other vehicles in that mission.

Really? I could have sworn that there were some humans there…
The only time we’ve ever fought humans before in actual gameplay was in ODST. If you find all the audio logs, and get to the mission where you meet Dare underground, when you meet the Police officer, instead of getting trapped and killed by Drones, he’ll walk off to check a dead body. If you follow him, he’ll say he can’t let you live, and you have to kill him.
wrong. Halo Wars. Nuff said
No, just friendly fire the marines…then you’ll have human ai enemies

Funnily enough, it was also the first Halo game to be rated T…
I think Insurrectionists will definitely play a role. I’m hoping for enormous three-sided battles between the UNSC, Insurrectionists and Jul’s Covenant. Then, the humans band together under the leadership of Locke and the Chief and fight the Covenant.
You could always have human enemies if you know what to do. It typically was something along the lines of killing half of your squad.

cough crows nest cough
on topic: I wouldn’t mind finally seeing insurrectionists in-game.
Josh Holes said that Halo 5 goes to a dark place, this could mean quite a few things but is this one?
Possibly, but I hope not. Because how many other games do we fight humans in…
I’m surprised that killing humans is considered taboo by some, who have killed thousands of people in online matches (I know that these are just simulated “spartan games” in H4, but think about e.g. Invasion in Reach). Also, as someone above mentioned, we already killed corrupted policeman in ODST. After Spartans were killing Innies in the books, how none of that stuff came into games? And Master Chief? As a kid he killed some poor ODSTs with his bare hands, just because.

Is “other games have done it” really a good enough reason to prevent a new class of enemies?
