Please people Nova+, tell me how you find any sort of enjoyment out of this game. I play objective and MLG only and the problem is that in objective, no one on my team even bothers. My first game and I get someone who camped in corners in camo while we defend the flag, and camped in our base when we had to capture. They instantly changed to AR off respawn, and got ONE kill. Of course we lose.
Then there is MLG where, I will admit, players are above my skills. I’ll get some good games in on that playlist but EVERY other playlist is full of people without common sense or any form of initiative to win or work together.
I’ve stopped playing at eclipse and came back from excitement for halo 4 and can’t force myself to play any more. I still have friends that play daily for hours, and hit the credit limit.
I know, I know, I expect the usual “you won’t be missed” or “suck it up!” but I’ve played halo for many years and I always went against the other people, tried to stick with Reach. I’m legitimately curious how you all have stayed so long with all the teamkilling, AFKs, lack of common sense, lack of teamwork, and bloom.
Because of Halo 4 excitement. Until I can find other good players playing in my timezone with mics willing to go together in games like BTB and stuff to go for perfections and high streaks, I only play because of Halo 4.
For a lot of people, they stick together, I wouldn’t dare venture into BTB without my clan mates and I know a huge amount of people that don’t go into particular playlists unless their friends are online and willing to play.
In short, find yourself some good friends to play with and you’ll have a better time, because at the end of the day you’ll be winning more often and when you do occasionally lose you’ll agree with your team mates why and be able to laugh about it, always the best way to play.
I have a group of 5-7 friends that I play vids with regularly. They all chose to ditch Halo for COD:BO & MW3. They aren’t really Halo fans in the sense that others in this community are and that’s OK.
Recently they’ve been playing Reach again due to the excitement of H4’s release date, and we’ve been tearing up playlists like Team Slayer, Team Objective and BTB.
When I play alone, I either frequent Firefight playlists or stick to BTB. I’m a bit of a lone wolf in BTB and enjoy muting EVERYBODY and just playing the way I want to play. You still get in some great duels and it takes a great deal of skill and strategy to not get into a situation where you are over your head.
I still have tremendous amounts of love for this game… even after 2 years!
I usually carry my team match after match. As funny as it sounds more times than not I am the team and if thats what must be done to win then so be it. I’ll be the team while my bad teammates, afk’s and quitters do nothing.
I usually carry my team. if you are gonna play then i would have suggested get a group of friends and do it and do action sack(but thats impossible now) personally i play swat and grifball. never cared for mlg i think its bs. also i am playing to get to inheritor and i only play for about an hour a day and the only reason i do that is cuz i am a completionist and i want to get every piece of armor(that includes haunted).
I, too, bored of the MLG playlist several months ago. At first it provided the occasional trace of enthrallment, but ultimately I got bored of winning every game I played. I’ll admit that you can find some quality players in MLG, but in my experience a good needler and plasma pistol combo can take them down in no time. Honestly I wish they had removed it with all of the other playlists in the final matchmaking update. You see, I decided to take my talents to Grifball after I retired from MLG, and it takes longer to scroll through the “Community Playlists” to get all the way down to Grifball; if they took out MLG, I could get into Reach’s truest measure of skill that much more quickly!
team based game is the issue. Rumble pit is definitely the way to go you can be alone and sharpen your skills then when you have a team of friends you’ll do better.
> Your first and biggest mistake IMO is playing with Randy in team based gametypes.
It’s not even that the game is team-based. It’s just that you have a change to match with absolutely garbage teammates against a good team. Matchmaking sucks in Reach.

Anyway, yeah I agree that the mm skill search system is horrible.
I came back to reach after a loooooooong break a few months ago, got in with a cool clan/community that’s laid back. Granted I don’t search without atleast one friend regardless of playlist. I’m becoming bored again. But I don’t wanna be rusty come time for halo 4, and I seriously don’t want to play with the Mexicans on halo 3

Hey!
Seriously though, I did a test with a two day account. Searching as a random it only took about 20 games before I was playing teams of 4 that are ranked in the top 100 players by trueskill in that playlist according to Halotracker.
I stopped playing halo for sometime and came back to it a few months ago with a new mindset then what i had when i left. JUST HAVE FUN!!! Who cares if your teams quits, or you get betrayed. Find a game mode you like and stick with it. also rally some people online to play with that aren’t annoying. the more you have in your group the better chance you have of having a good time. don’t let a couple people here and there annoy you or else that’s going to translate into an annoying halo 4 experience if you go into halo 4 with a chip on your shoulder.
Want to know your problem? You’re playing MLG. Do you know what you should do? Play an objective based game, you know, one that isn’t just about killing and flag capturing. Have you taken up king of the hill yet? Fun game type.
