First game against farmers

Been a while since I jumped in some H5 after binging on some overwatch and battleborn since halo is my baby. My last warzone match was less than stellar, here is the proof.

https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo-5-guardians/xbox-one/mode/warzone/matches/f138fd34-f3ea-421b-9ad7-67d249614aba/players/meta%20legionaire?gameHistoryMatchIndex=0&gameHistoryGameModeFilter=All

My friend was watching the whole thing and told me that they were farming since at the 13:00 min mark they captured a 2nd base. Hard to believe that I have never heard of anyone doing this until now.

What do you guys think? Were they farming us for real or just some players wanting to ruin 12 other players of their time? Don’t know why some one wants to repetively shoot something without some sort of challenge.

Remind you of anything?

Yup, you got farmed. Looks like an inferior SC, they don’t even have the armor yet.

Unfortunately this does look like farming…but it wasn’t an inferior spartan company. It was an organised fireteam that predominately consists of higher level and higher skilled players (some that no longer need Achilles) and like to maintain records of other companies that they have destroyed. I’m unable to say anymore as I’ll get banned again for calling out but simply clicking on a few names will take you to their website.

Sorry you have had the misfortune of getting farmed OP :frowning: But at least if you run into something as infuriating as this, you can always hop onto Overwatch :stuck_out_tongue:

Now no need to get yourself banned, it is unfortunate that I ran into this. But honestly what can you do? I looked into it more and this is not the first nor the last that they are doing this so lets just chalk this one up in the experience library.

If everyone else says its farming then it is but that is not what I’m commenting about. Its the line in bold. To tell you plain and simple why poeple do that or at least why I did or occasionally do it, is because I don’t like challenges that much and find a lot of fun in just flat out slaughtering my opponents. I am the type of guy to go on reach and buff up my spartan in firefight just to slaughter everything and in my eyes every enemy I encounter is just an AI in firefight. It doesn’t matter to me if there is an objective if it is not fun to go for said objective(talking about the core or CTF) which makes me go out trying to get a killing spree. I think its the same for most who still do it in the aspect that they have fun doing it, is it a good or justified thing to do? No, but remember this is an FPS and Halo at that so if you are afraid to get slaughtered during your time playing the game it is probably not the right title for you.

farming is sad but I feel like everyone does it for the armor or they are just mean so

Posting about it doesn’t help.
Side note, I love this helmet and all the bloodshed it took to get it.

I have the blood and sweat. Where else am I going to get the tears for my Aurom BR

THIS is everything wrong with this type of player. So what I’m getting is that these players find enjoyment in the suffering of others? That there is a detachment where people are not viewed as people? In my line of work we have a term for this type of behavior. It’s called a sociopath. Unfortunately it’s a diagnosis on the rise in our society.

Doesn’t mean the behavior is still symptomatic of a larger issue.

Do you forget you’re talking about a GAME whose community also finds it socially acceptable to stand over a dead body and repeatedly smother it in one’s genitalia? You want irl war logic, go look up the Highway of Death

You are trying to justify farming with teabagging? Interesting. I see the behavioral similarities, but I think farming does more damage to the community than the occasional -Yoink!-. But, I’ll bookmark Highway of Death and check it out.

It’s funny how some act as if this is new to Halo. Man bad beats happen. Well organised teams do this and have always done this. Just move on to the next game. Not every game is going to be a super fair even fun game.

I don’t need to justify players playing well within the game parameters. I was only pointing out the ludicrous nature of psych profiling a part of the Halo community vs what could be real life mental health issues

I can understand that there is some satisfaction in destroying your enemies and I do like the AI analogy that was used. There are time yes that in CTF sometimes that is what all people really do and I should not let one bad apple ruin the whole pile. Hell sometimes I pop into destiny just so that I can find some easy targets for practice. Yet when I continuely find said apples in other baskets then there is something wrong here.

But being destroyed is not my fear, its when others do what they can to prolong the nonsense and play the game that (theoretically) in a way the detriments others. You can see in my game the amount of people leaving. I would of as well if not that I am on thin ice for bans (bad connection)
I was even facing this nonsense in overwatch even when the objective would be completely ignored just so the enemy team could have us trapped in our spawn. And you have to admit being stuck in your first base for 20+ min can’t be anyones version of a good time. You are amazing at the game, great, no need to delay the game even longer by not doing any other said objectives so that you can end the match with your high point score.

You can admit that this was never an issue in any other previous Halo title, even when I was destroyed in Reach and 3 by far superiour players. At least there was an short end to the shenanigans

You don’t think symptomology can be found in video games? I think it can, and when I go back for my doctorate maybe I’ll look into it as my dissertation.
As far as, ‘playing well within the game parameters’ I don’t think anyone here is arguing the skill and teamwork involved. The problem is intentionally ruining and prolonging the bad experience of others for your own enjoyment and amusement. That what is done is considered Unsporting Conduct and should be reported as such. Play better, but have some integrity. That’s all that’s being asked.

People have been making that connection since the 90’s with video games vs all kinds of criminal and pro/anti-social behavior, so I wouldn’t I wouldn’t throw that out there as original. Maybe a different angle can shed new light on the subject
