Fireteams in Infinite

Ever since i started on H5, the idea and concept of fireteams came known to me. However they felt out of reach and nigh unobtainable, mainly due to me needing to go onto waypoint to even access them.
Hence why i believe they need a rework for infinite:
Instead of going to waypoint to join or access them, you can do it right from the games menu. It’d be great for getting more fireteam specific rewards too. Like coatings and armours. Although this may also be too difficult to obtain for a player created system like it is now (fireteams made by players). Which is why i also want to throw in an alternative to consider; have dev made fireteams, such as fireteam crimson or castle. There could be fireteams for all the team colours so tgat coatings between them would be different. Players would pick the one they want to join, maybe only able too at a specific SR/equivalent, and be privy to that sets items. If they want they could switch to another instead of being stuck to only one. This could cost money or not but switching would remove access to the previous team’s coatings. This would open it up to players who wouldn’t normally join a fireteam due to a lack of friends who play or other reasons.

The benefits of the current system, Idea 1:
Allows for greater teamwork in the fireteam on specific challenges that could be given out
Greater variety of coatings with better distinction from each other.
People are already in their fireteams and are ready to go.

Benefits of Idea 2:
Allows all players to join without much effort or fideling
Gives unique items for each fireteam
Opens possibilities for tournements and the like
If a seperate campaign is a thing, intros could involve the fireteam someone is apart of.

Thoughts on this idea?

There was a thread a while back that asked similar questions as well. I believe you’re referring to the ‘Spartan Companies’ as well but yes, their should be a better menu or even a ‘lobby area’ expanded on H5 current system.

As for the Dev’s creating fireteams of different colors, I think that’ll be a wash since most people will only join a team primarily based on their favorite color choice. Also then you are limiting what players can get in this system or if a player doesn’t want to be in a fireteam/spartan company.

The fireteam gameplay mechanic has technically been around since Halo 2 and onward by giving us an unkillable plot-critical NPC during certain points in the campaign. Got a little more emphasized in Halo Reach and more extensively in Halo 5. But I don’t think they’re giving us the same level of emphasis as they did in Halo 5 considering Halo Infinite seems to have some callbacks drawing closer to Halo Combat Evolved…maybe one or two unkillable NPC of significance if we’re lucky.
