Fireteam Raven Thoughts?

This just in:

What are your thoughts on this? Personally, I’m a bit worried I might be missing out on a pretty epic Halo experience. I barely ever have the time to drive all the way to Dave and Busters. I’ve only ever gone once in my life, and I seriously doubt I can go again.

I feel the same way I did when I missed out on that VR experience…not to be rude, but I bought an Xbox for a reason.

EDIT: Whoops, didn’t see the new forum section, there. I wondered where all the threads for this game were hiding…

As far as I’m concerned, this is just an incredibly stupid gimmick. An on-rails shooter that is only playable at an arcade!?! What is this, the 1980s? If I can’t even play it on my Xbox One, it’s nothing to get hyped over.

Also, I have to say… the ODST armor designs in the game look really ugly. I don’t understand why they didn’t just use the armor from Halo 3: ODST, instead we got this weird version that looks like a poor mod of the Nightfall armor from Halo 5: Guardians.

What do I think? I’d rather have Halo 6, that’s what I think. I was getting into all the juicy details over Blops 4 this morning and when I heard from a comment on youtube by HiddenXperia that Xbox was going to announce something Halo related today, I absolutely lost it. Then I see the word “arcade” and then just went back to reading more Blops 4 info. This is a waste of resources and time. An absolute joke. This is something Bungie should have done 10 years ago, then maybe someone would care in the slightest about it.

I’m interested but without a port to Xbox I’ll never get a chance to play it. There are no arcades in my city, and I’m hardly going to fly interstate to play a videogame (if it even gets an Australian release). I’d absolutely buy it if they ported it, but as they never ported Spartan Strike I wouldn’t count on seeing this.

I don’t think 343i put much resources into this as they’re not the primary developer. They’re simply managing their IP which was requested for use by the actual arcade developers Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix. I imagine they were simply overseeing the project given it’ll have to make sense cannon wise and I’m sure they have certain quality standards they wanted to see reached.

I care and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I look forward to playing a Halo arcade game at my local D&B and perhaps other arcade destinations such as movie theaters, bowling alleys, and other entertainment restaurants in the future.

How about you just not get overexcited the moment you hear about something Halo-related being announced? You won’t get very disappointed then.

But I’m a Halo fan, why shouldn’t I get excited?

It would seems as though 343i went from pay to win games like warzone to pay to play. This is a really bad move imo

I think this looks like a lot of fun. I’ll never get a chance to play it, but for those who do, wow. A full Halo game, that you can play with your friends, while hanging out at the mall or whatever. I think that as Halo fans, we shouldn’t forget that it’s important to reach out to gamers who aren’t necessarily into hardcore gaming, or even have a console. Anything that reminds people that Halo is a universe where anyone can jump in and play is a good thing.

Also, for some, this game may be their first exposure to Halo, especially to a girl who may not have an older brother or sister gamer, and who normally wouldn’t play this type of game to begin with except she happens to be at a Dave and Buster’s for a birthday party or something. We shouldn’t underestimate what kind of experiences stick with us long after we’ve grown up.

My dad used to take my sister and I to the arcade at the mall every Saturday when we were in elementary and middle school and I still remember playing Soul Calibur there. I was terrible and I probably won less than 10 times against my sister (don’t let her pick the guy with nunchuks), but even now, I look at this game very fondly and Talim and Ivy (even though I think her design is incredibly sexist) hold a soft spot in my heart. I miss that so much that I’m buying the new Soul Calibur game that comes out later this year.

Now replace “Soul Calibur” with “Halo” and boom! you have another Halo fan.
Fireteam Raven is a good thing.
Trust me.
( ^_^)

I’m actually really hyped for this but it better not be really expensive to play

Every Halo game is pay to play. They’re not free are they?

As in you have to keep paying to play it. With every Halo game thus far you make a one time purchase and that is it, game is yours. This is such a contradiction to the xbox one x that it diminishes it to some degree. The one X is the most powerful gaming console, with this move Microsoft and 343 put there foot in their mouth by making this an arcade game. Why have a powerful console if the next halo game is only in an arcade, especially since Halo is Microsoft biggest title?

I guess so. As far as the pay as you go thing, I don’t think it’s really a direction that 343 is going in. Literally every arcade game is pay to continue playing why would they do anything different?

Because it’s a different kind of game, made specifically for a different format, isn’t a main entry and allows them to reach a new audience.

No, it isn’t the most powerful console. And why does it matter. It’s like saying your wasting the potential of every game not made for a specific console. Example: (Insert mobile game here) is wasting its potential because it’s not playable on Xbox 1 X. Dude, it’s made for a specific kind of experience not possible on the Xbox X and probably won’t be on it.

I love the arcade experience and Halo, so I’m pretty excited about this as a neat excuse to drive up to a Dave & Buster’s.

Why tempt us? Just bring back the Flood in H5.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t be excited, just don’t get over-excited and assume that a Halo-related announcement means something huge will be announced you know?

Being so close to E3, I just assumed that 343 would announce it since BF5 and BO4 were announced prior. Still hoping for Halo six this year.
