Fireteam Osiris Members

Before I begin, this may be incredibly controversial…

I don’t think Buck needed to be in Osiris. Most of the time he felt like the comic relief installment on the team rather than adding much to the dialogue. The writers should have stuck to Thorne in my opinion (I know he was voice acting elsewhere) as his development in Spartan Ops and Escalation was decent. Not to say I disliked Buck as a character, but rather that it felt like a safe option to be familiar with the fans. I understand this, and respectively most people like him but I would’ve liked to see the continuation of Thorne.

inb4 people saying your not a “true” halo fan lol

I loved seeing Buck in Halo 5, he still is one of my favorite Halo characters.
I get what you mean with the comic relief installment, but that’s what I like about Buck. It cheers you up, makes you chuckle. I like that. But you shouldn’t forget that he also has a very serious side!
But I could go on and on and on praising Buck, so I’ll head over to Thorne.

I missed Spartan Thorne in Halo 5, he was in my opinion one of the most interesting characters in Halo 4. Thorne was curious about many things in the world, I really liked that. It’s shame that he and Fireteam Majestic didn’t make a return in Halo 5.

Honestly I think the ODST’S from H3 ODST should have been fireteam Orisis rather than the new boring characters, if the fireteam had consisted of Buck, Mickey, Romeo and Dutch, we would have had pre established characters and 343 could have focused more on actual character development instead of establishing newer less interesting characters.

My friend, if you are a fan of Halo 3: ODST, and those ODST’s particularly, please read “Halo: New Blood”. It’s a good read.

Dutch is out & married.
Romeo & Mickey indeed became Spartan-Iv’s, with Buck as their Fireteam leader.
Mickey betrayed the UNSC, and Buck & Romeo, to the Insurrectionists, but Buck & Romeo prevailed, leaving Mickey in ONI custody.
As a result, Buck requested to be removed from a leadership position for a while, and just be one of the “regular” Sparta

Honestly, I’d like to see Locke go back to ONI and Buck take over Osiris. Much rather play as him. Then he could be a little more “in charge’ish” like in ODST, but since S-IV’s are a little more disciplined than rowdy ODST’s, he wouldn’t have to be such a hard -Yoink-, and could still make wisecracks from time to time.

Besides, with “Castle” cancelled, Nathan Fillion needs something to do!

Buck did seem a little too Jar Jar like in H5 tbh. Not saying he was awful, however Thorne is a much more interesting character imo, especially with his story ark with Ayit Sevi, on the topic of escalation, at least it wouldn’t be pointless as they were developing his character.

“That’s twice!” - Buck

Locke said that… “Oh, we’re counting now?”-Buck

I love Buck being a Spartan. But if he wasn’t in Osiris I would be okay. I hope to see him and Chief have a conversation in Halo 6 since they’re my favorite characters, excluding Rookie.

There’s no point in Locke going back to ONI.

I was definitely pleased to see Buck in H5. Huge fan of H3:ODST. I get how he came off as the comic relief but my favorite moments were his serious conversations with Locke during the cut scenes. Showed his character could be more dynamic.
Thorne was kind of meh, in my opinion. I haven’t read Escalation so maybe that would change my outlook on him.
