"Fireteam has changed"

Ever since the last patch I’ve had a problem where I am am booted from a match with a message saying “Fireteam has changed.” This happens even when I am alone. I’ve tried a hard shut down of the Xbox and letting it stay unplugged for while but when I turn it back on the problem persists. My friend CoverMyMeds has also been having this problem. I’m sure he will describe his personal issue or add to this when he sees me “mention” him. He’s a waypoint junky, so naturally completely rad.

Yup. Earlier today I tried the Throwback playlist, and WarZone Assault multiple times. Each time I was placed into a match and nearly immediately returned to the dashboard. My final attempt was matching up against iSpiteful, which devastated me when Halo 5 “fireteam has changed” me out of the match. I would have loved to go up against him. I was trying to match solo all 3 matches.

Some video proof of my iSpiteful boot: http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/CoverMyMeds/video/23663691

First Match booted.
Second match booted.
Third match booted.

I just want to play this wonderful product! I love Halo 5 lol

Im on wifi- I know I know, but I have to. Can’t have a cord going across my apartment.
Had a fresh boot up of Halo 5 before each MM search.
I was able to matchmake in other games. I don’t mean that accusationally, just anecdotally.

comedyshermit, am I going to get banned if I keep trying to play? I guess what I’m asking is- do you know if these count as quits? They show as DNFs on waypoint.

You only have three DNFS in your last 100 matches. It isn’t likely to be ban worthy by itself…but every DNF counts and my 10% hypothetical model still seems to be holding true. Normally the recommended ‘fix for the fire team glitch’ is to hard reset your console, make sure you only have one profile signed in and aren’t set to appear off line…but since your Ewok friend said he already tried a hard reset I don’t have an easy fix. Hopefully someone with more knowledge about networking can step in and help you guys out.

I also was adhering to those policies, if you’re interested to hear. I’m not sure if you’re tracking data or anything.

Thanks for responding! Appreciate you looking out for me. As you can probably tell I take quitting seriously. When I start a match I finish it. It kills me a little on the inside to have these DNFs on my profile even though they weren’t my fault lol.

As you recall I received a temporary ban because of the issue. I think that was my first. I also abhor quitting.

I try to keep track of solutions (rather than data) that way when I see someone with an issue I can either parrot the way to ‘fix’ it or direct them somewhere. There is the disconnect thread up above that you might consider detailing your issues in as well.

Are you and Ewok in the same general location (I don’t need or want to know where…just wondering if you have the same ISP), I know when I had a string of network disconnects and received my quit ban during the reach era it was due to my ISP having issues and I basically had to take a break from playing until they’d resolved them. I’m now curious if there is more than one fireteam glitch, it would make sense considering the standard solution isn’t working.

I’m in Ohio with TWC (they’re becoming Charter). Ewokofdestiny is not in Ohio. Not sure what ISP he has. Linked him so he can chime in. I believe I already posted in the disconnect thread. This seems to be unrelated to previous connection problems. It’s only occurred like this after the server troubleshooting patch was released.

I’m in College Station, Tx. I also have not had this issue until after the server troubleshooting patch, just to reemphasize. Thank you for looking into it.

Edit: ISP is Suddenlink
