This is purely for fun, but I was talking with the other GrimBrothers earlier and we were discussing who we’d include on a 5-person fireteam to take into battle with us. Unfortunately, we couldn’t quite decide on just one type, so we did two. It was a fun brain-drain and so I thought I’d get the impressions of some folks around here as well. Here are the ground rules:
ALPHA TEAM
5-member team - Must include 1 Halo character - VG-primary franchises (arguments could be made for including VG-exclusive or derived characters from franchises like SW, etc) - Your enemies are unknown, but assumed to be at the “Elite” level of opponent (So say Elites, Brutes, Collectors, Cerberus, Fallen, etc; not Flood, Reapers, etc) - No naval battles (but perhaps some vehicular combat) - This team is for “canonical” characters only, so nothing created/customized****BRAVO TEAM
5-member team - Must include 1 Halo character - VG-primary franchises (arguments could be made for including VG-exclusive or derived characters from franchises like SW, LOTR, etc) - Your enemies are unknown, but assumed to be at the “Elite” level of opponent (So say Elites, Brutes, Collectors, Cerberus, Fallen, etc; not Flood, Reapers, etc) - No naval battles (but perhaps some vehicular combat) - This team is for “created/customized” characters only, so anything really that you’ve made your own so to speakAfter much deliberation, I think I’ve settled on mine… Except I’ll probably end up changing it over and over again lol.
031 Exuberant Witness - Halo - “Singing Grunt” that had the Grunt Birthday Party Skull - Halo - Duke Nukem - John Cena - WWE 2k16 - Kirby - Super Smash Bros MeleeeeeeeeeeeeeeBravo
Spartan IV (my Spartan) equipped with the legendary, unstoppable SPACE MOP - Halo - A Quadwing with remote-controlled missiles and MJOLNIR designed for Quadwings - Halo - An Argonian that’s maxed out in two-handed weapons, but uses an Iron Mace - Skyrim - Semi-rampant AI with an avatar shaped like a stalk of asparagus - Halo - The Swallow in the HaloSwallower logo :^)
-Alpha-
Edward Buck- Halo
Hamish Beamish-Halo
Trevor Phillips-Gta V
Damon Baird- Gears of War
Augustus Cole-Gears of War
It’s the entire comedic relief army.
I only made a list for the “Alpha” team, and rather than pick who I thought were the most bad–Yoink- characters, attempted to pick characters whose skill sets are non-redundant as possible. I elected to not include Star Wars, as it is not a primary video game franchise. Same with other franchises that were first TV shows, movies, or even comic books.
I was hoping to get 5 different video game franchises included, but because Halo & Mass Effect universes both sport some pretty unique abilities, technology, and soldiers, I couldn’t get away from having 2 each on this list. ALPHA
Master Chief - Halo (team leader - MJOLNR armor & assault rifle/pistol loadout ascribed him primary ‘assault’ role)
Arbiter Thel 'Vadam - Halo (primary strategist plus CQC specialist - top Sangheili rated-armor paired with Prophets Bane)
Liara T’soni - Mass Effect (Biotic powers during combat plus incredible scientific/technical expertise to be leveraged; her focus on Xebobiotics also gives her added tactical knowledge with dealing with & interacting with various factions/species)
Kerrigan - Starcraft (Ghost abilities, precision ranged weapons; paired with ability to control the swarm? Should work against Flood as well. She’s certainly the wild-card but when she mobilizes for combat she brings major force-multipliers)
Legion - Mass Effect (sniper specialist, who, as an AI, would additionally be able to offer considerable technical / electronics warfare support)
I know it says “primary VG character” but I think it would be difficult to argue with my character choices. Although most of these characters have been involved in video games based on their respective franchises, so I’ll cheat and claim them anyway
Alpha
Avery Johnson (Halo)
James T. Kirk (Star Trek)
Han Solo (Star Wars)
Malcolm Reynolds (Firefly)
Jack Burton (Big Trouble in Little China)*
Alpha is made up of badasses who play by their own rules but always do what’s right. They also know what the ladies like
*Jack Burton isn’t really a sci-fi character and is the only one who comes from present day, not that that matters. I could see him possibly being swapped out for Ellen Ripley.
Bravo
Catherine Halsey (Halo)
Henry “Indiana” Jones Jr. (Raiders of the Lost Ark)
Jean-luc Picard (Star Trek)
Rick O’Connell (The Mummy)
Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)
Bravo is made up of Archaeologists and other relic hunters who enjoy studying the ancient past, even if they have to fight and kill anyone who wants to use the secrets of the past for their own nefarious purposes.
Linda-058 (Halo) - Yang Xaio Long (RWBY: Grimm Eclipse) - Ryu Hyabusa (Ninja Gaiden III) - Erron Black (Mortal Kombat X) - Goku (Dragon Ball Z: Legacy of Goku 2) <===Bravo Team===>
My Halo Spartan {EGk1-535 Serial No: 08815-72751-EK} (Halo 4) - The GTA Online multiplayer character (GTA V) - Attacker Mii (Super Smash Bros. Wii U) - Ayano Aishi [Yandere-Chan] (Yandere Simulator) - Henry “Black” Blackburn (Battlefield 3) **With Blackburn, technically he is emotionally customisable within the games’ storyline, hopefully this does not go against the regulations of this game…
