I just wanna play the next flight, at this rate we won’t see reach until next year

Their manner of communication is frustrating: announcing that their tentative plan is to launch fireflight in July, but give no update on its status even on the last day of the month, with nothing but an obscure tweet.

Maybe there’ll be more information about the delay in the blog post, but I’m not expecting any.

Did you really expect anything different?

I sadly won’t anymore.

Hey, at least we have a roadmap (kinda); though I agree that we shouldn’t be given dates unless/until things are more final. I think I saw a mod say somewhere that they (343) won’t be giving out dates anymore since people are getting so disheartened by the “Soon” or “When it’s ready” stuff. I wouldn’t blame the staff though; often when dealing with transferring raw code you find issues with formatting; unseen bugs; etc. (99 little bugs in the code, 99 little bugs. Take one down, patch it around; 137 bugs in the code.) and if some of the code is still from HCE; then God there might be some serious weird problems transferring the game over. Anyways, I don’t envy the devs’ jobs and I’m sure that the devs are running into a lot of unseen bugs, and learning pains doing the first time move to PC.

I think everyone needs to chill a bit.

343 probably shouldn’t of given timeframes but really it’s a beta program. It would be different of it was the actual release, but as it stands they can release betas whenever they want.

You aren’t here to play halo early, your here to help with development and getting angry over development delays isn’t helping that.

Now that’s the first time I have heard that. I can get people confusing “should have” when it’s spoken too quick in their minds but even “shouldn’t have” now? Really?

We can wait for as long as deemed necessary.

no

Sadly not, 343 is not a trustworthy company clearly. There’s no reason this should still be unplayable and a mess to the point they’re pushing back flights this far. The first one was a 2 month delay, at this point we won’t see Reach until 2022.

I’d much rather them delay Halo Infinite a year if they have too. Why should they rush this?

The Insider Program even existing contradicts your statement. They could have instead just updated the MCC, added a horrible half baked version of Reach to the collection, and you would have been even more dissatisfied, but instead created a program to test and roll out updates to the builds so that the game has minimal issues across the board. There is much more going into the port than just a simple “Copy & Paste.”

Communication could be more transparent on their part, but have patience. The Insider Program isn’t an early access to content, it’s a program to test builds when they are ready to be tested.

I disagree. The Insider program was created simply as a way to recruit for testing products. Every company does this one way or another, it’s nothing to do with fan satisfaction or making things better. As an example, for Blizzard products, they have you join the opt-in to test products and certain groups get picked based on hardware specs(or a specific set of parameters) and you HAVE to be a part of this opt-in group to do it. Sound familiar? Change opt-in with Insider.

Do you believe that the build is unplayable and half baked at this point? If it is, they’re doing an even worse job than I had thought. There’s no reason whatsoever at this point it should be in that state. If it is, they need to clean house and get some talent. Maybe, you know, some help from Bungie, the real Halo studio. I never expected early access nor care if I even get into a flight. The flights aren’t the entire campaign and multiplayer, so I’ll play it when it’s released.

You tell me to have patience. I’ve had patience. They’ve massively under-delivered. It would certainly help to get some real progress updates… They had one flight which was one mission, and it’s taken a month to go through it and work with it and start to prepare the next flight. All we’ve gotten that is relevant is

  • PC Flight #2 (Firefight) still doesn’t have a set date, but more info will be “coming soon”. Flight #2 will be Firefight Matchmaking, Flight #3 will be PvP Matchmaking. And honestly, if it’s taken a month to go through the feedback from one mission and figure it out, even if those bugs translate to everything else in the game, that’s far too long. Let’s remember this game is 9 years old and these are supposed to be development experts.

Alas, it doesn’t matter how any of us feels, it won’t make it come any faster. At the very least, these forums exist as a medium to voice our displeasure with this process.

<p>I read too much stuff online that I don’t even read it out anymore. Cause of my accent(Australian) when I say it out loud it sounds like shouldn’t’ve but writing it like that hurts a little inside. Not sure which is the worseer grammer but as long as you understood I’m happy with it.</p>

Why are you so insistent on the game coming out sooner. A few short months ago was just a dream for fans to fawn over. We waited years and now we know its coming and your annoyed that it isn’t here sooner?

More than that you question the amount of time that needs to be taken to port and update a old game that needs to support wide screens, high frame rates and a huge number of computer configurations, when the original limited all three of those things.

We all have to wait. Its frustrating, we are all frustrated but I trust that the developers are also frustrated.

They want to release halo the way it always should of been. Otherwise none of us would be here.

“We waited years” no “we” didn’t, I have the complete MCC for XB1 including Reach and ODST for the 360, I can play these games at will and I have. I am not annoyed it’s not coming sooner, I am annoyed at the development team telling us “hopeful” dates for things and then repeatedly reneging on those dates because they refuse to allocate enough resources to get this done correctly and efficiently. This is supposed to be a massive game developer, working on things for even project Scarlett. Zero updates other than “here’s what we’re doing next stay tuned” while leaving everyone hanging because they feel like it. Not acceptable from a massive developer porting a 9 year old game over. They are supposed to be releasing these all by year’s end. At this point we won’t even have Reach until like 2022. Bungie wouldn’t jerk people around like this, that’s for dang sure.

Again, the forum is a place to discuss these things, so I do appreciate the conversation from everyone, whether you agree or disagree with what I’m saying.

Speak for yourself, I don’t know why somebody would be talking about fireflight if they didn’t want to play halo early, and frankly it’s better that people make it very clear to the Dev’s that the community will be upset if they continually make promises they can’t keep. I mean, THE LINE IS IN THE GAMES
