Something that’s always confused me about Halo: Reach is the fact that you can only change the voice of your Spartan in Firefight. I use Sergeant Johnson’s voice, for example, but the second I load up a Campaign mission it switches to Generic-Male#6740. Considering how few lines Noble Six has in the game, would Bungie (and the voice actors) really have had to put in that much effort to record those lines with each actor?
Sure hearing Sergeant Johnson’s voice coming out of a neon pink Spartan is odd, but is it any less odd when it’s exclusively a Firefight thing?
Well, from a lore standpoint, yes it would be super odd to hear a voice like Johnson’s in campaign. However, it would have been cool to see a skull that allowed players to use their firefight voice for campaign. It was probably a resource issue since, even though there weren’t a whole lot of lines like you said, there are still a fair number of lines to record.

Yeah, just imagine using Kat’s voice line and her armor and talking to the real Kat in the campaign
