In retrospect Halo Reach’s Firefight versus was pretty cool. With the new map pack out and ODST buddies It’ll probably be a little better then what we so far had. It’s never been perfected in matchmaking and it’s a shame, because if it was Firefight Versus would be an entirely new MP mode.
The new firefight map is going to allow a mild sample of my idea. If it works as well as it should then you could have some interesting fights in Reach.
Yet my idea goes further. An idea I don’t think that’s been done before. Now you may have read my topic on How to Make FF maps dynamic and such then you’d know I like my Firefight to be, well DYNAMIC AND AWESOME.
Yet versus always was and should be a seperate mode in it self. A mode in a mode. So here’s my ideas how to make FF versus an epic, amazing, killer mode for Halo 4.
1-More players. Allow at least 8 players 4 v 4.
2-On the above note allow 4 player on one screen! (on a team, or against)
Now the big stuff
Lets give the Elites some power at first. Instead of just being part of a group of covenant troops why not control a few of them. TO be realistic if you play a Minor Elite you will only be able to lead anything below that. Higher Elites and Brutes won’t listen to you.
Elites would have the ability to control lower ranked covies. Telling them where to go, commanding them, Options could be
1-Attack “X” point (All available troops attack where you are pointing)
2-Fall Back to player
3-Fall back to nearest safe point
4-Free thinking (do what they wanna do naturally)
WHAT OF SPARTANS
On default Spartans have to wait a few waves. They will get Marines, Then ODST’s then Spartan III’s then Spartan II’s.
Spartans (players) have the same command the Elites have. Overall each one can get a bonus. Which works like this
For Elites
1-Normal Troops (what we normall get or is picked in options)
2-Ghost Light (2 ghosts come in)
3-Assault (Whatever multi troop carrier Halo 4 has comes in and attacks)
4-Banshee Light (2 Banshees come in)
5-Ghost Heavy (4 ghosts)
6-Banshee Heavy (4 Banshees)
7-Elite Drop (“X” number of Elites drop down in mods)
8-Wraith Assault (1-2 wraiths come in, bombing)
9-Covenant Assault: 1 Ghost, 1 Banshee, 1 wraith, 1 phantom and a few extra troops.
10-Advanced Assault (Same as 9 but with extra health, better weapons, shields and 2x more)
For Spartans
1-Marine Drop (5 marines)
2-Marine Assault (10 marines)
3-Warthog (Hog + 5 marines)
4-Base Drop (Camp drops with 1 turret and ammo/health)
5-Rocket Hog (RockHog+ 5 Marines)
6-ODST Drop (15 ODST drop in)
7-Scorpion Drop (1 scorpion)
8-Warthog Convoy (Warthog convoy/drop comes in, 3 Hogs, full of marines)
9-Fort Drop (Bigger base drops in. 2 turrets, a rocket launcher and 2 marines)
10-Spartan III’s or II’s (random)
That’s it
