Firefight Versus 2.0

Just an idea for a new mode, I’m curious what others would think of it. Reach’s Firefight touched on an interesting idea which allowed players to join the Covenant AI against the Spartans and drain their lives. Cool idea, but it was ultimately pointless in its execution since it didn’t add much beyond novelty.

What I propose is a two-sided 4v4/6v6 Firefight where each team has 20 or so lives, and accrue points by killing enemy units, players, and objectives such as Generators. These points could then be used to unlock stronger loadouts, build fortifications, or call in vehicles and special AI units like ODST’s, Spartans, Grunt Heavies, or Hunters, etc.

The first team to bleed the other’s lives to zero wins.

So this reminds me of the tug of war mode in Halo wars. Where you have to build up your army and not fall behind. However you could just go ahead and destroy the enemy team.

Mmmm interesting

I’d like to see a grief gametype like call of duty. 2 teams, 4 players each team. Only a player on YOUR team can revive you. You can’t kill the other teams players. You can let the enemy team revive them, or melee them out of the animation and let the enemy teammate die. If you die, you sit out until the next round.

I did love Grief mode, it was pretty cool and unexpected.

Any ‘Elimination’ game type in halo would be (in my opinion) a lot of fun.
Being able to work with AI in a game mode like what slvr cobra suggested would be mind blowing if built (coded) well.
